At the ground level, visitors can explore the 12th-century basilica, renowned for its beautifully adorned mosaics, marble floors, and frescoes. Marvel at the dazzling apse mosaic of the Tree of Life.

Then, descend below the floor to the 4th-century church, where early Christians once gathered for worship. The walls still feature faded frescoes illustrating biblical scenes, saints, and symbols from the early centuries of Christianity in Rome.

Finally, venture further underground into the 1st-century Roman structures, including a house and a temple dedicated to the enigmatic god Mithras. Enter the Mithraeum to view the altar where the cult’s followers once conducted their secret rituals.
