This tour will guide you through the Forums, the Imperial Palaces, and some exceptional sites where you’ll encounter stunning frescoes, statues, and ancient treasures.
Visit the Mamertine Prison, where Saint Peter was held, and explore the newly opened Forma Urbis and the Celio Hill. Delve into the underground archaeology of San Clemente Basilica, including a 2nd Century Mithraic Temple, and conclude with an intriguing tour of the Colosseum.

- All Colosseum tours require photo ID for all participants; plan to bring your passports on the day of your tour. Failure to show identification will result in the denial of entry to the site.
- The itinerary described above is a suggested order and indication of the various experiences. These may slightly vary according to the day of the week and ongoing restoration efforts
- Places of worship have strict dress code requirements for entry. All participants are required to have shoulders and knees covered (no tank tops or short dresses) to enter
- The house of Augustus is closed on Monday and the House of Livia is closed on Tuesday. All other days of the week both are open. If you prefer to see one or the other, please book accordingly and inform your guide at the start of the tour.
- Tours run rain or shine. We recommend coming prepared if rainy weather is expected
- Comfortable walking shoes recommended
- Lunch is not included in the price of the tour

Perfect Colosseum tour - Wonderful tour! Our guide was so knowledgeable and went at a great pace for the heat. Even our 13 year old enjoyed the tour of all the ancient Roman sites.

Incredibly informative and convenient way to see the sites. - Rosaria was such a pleasant, informative and considerate guide for our visit. We learned so much from her about the history and sites and she was very accommodating and sensitive to our needs touring on 100 degree day. Highly Recommend the Full Day Tour of Rome - This tour provided the most amazing experience for my husband and me! In one day, we saw more with our guide than was possible if we had done this on our own. Our tour included the Roman Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, Vatican City including the Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica. We even got to walk through the Holy Doors. Our guide Caterina M was fantastic! She stayed with us the entire day, directing us to all of the major sights, and providing historical insight. She recommended lunch at several restaurants that catered more to the locals rather than just tourists. Our driver Alessio did a great job of maneuvering through heavy traffic in downtown Roman and having the car ready for us at each stop.
If you only have one day in Rome to see the major the sights, we highly recommend the full day tour of Rome - with this you will get a private tour with your own dedicated guide, car and driver, and you can customize the tour depending on which sights you decide are most important. Liv Tours definitely exceeded our expectations.

Best way to see Rome! - Matteo was very knowledgeable about all the sites. He let us enjoy all the sites and take it all in. He found all the shade spots so we weren't burning under the sun. Amazing time going back in time.
