Often called the “Whisky Route,” it is ideal for adventurous hikers.
Although it presents a more challenging climb than the Marangu Route, the Machame route boasts one of the highest summit success rates. This is due to its topography, which allows climbers to “trek high and sleep low,” enhancing acclimatization. The Machame route is steeper and involves longer distances, while the Coca-Cola route offers a more gradual ascent. Typically completed in 6 or 7 days via the southern circuit, climbers reach the summit through the east-facing Mweka route to the crater rim at Stella Point. The journey is both scenic and rugged, with a 7-day trek being the most recommended.

5 days on machame - It was a wonderful experience on 13th, having booked a 5-day trip on the Machame Route with Habari Adventures.From the very first day, everything was well organized and smoothly handled.The guides were supportive, motivating, and always checking on our wellbeing.The whole journey felt safe, memorable, and truly enjoyable.The services at the tents were excellent and truly impressive.The guides ensured our tents were always well set, clean, and comfortable on arrival.They checked on us regularly, brought warm water when needed, and made sure we rested well.Their care and attention made life on the mountain feel surprisingly comfortable.I highly recommend Habari Adventures to anyone planning a mountain climb or adventure.

Excellent organisation - I am gladly interested in sharing my voyage on 21st December with Habari Adventures. We booked a 7-day trip via the Machame Route, and from the very beginning, Habari Adventures showed great professionalism, excellent organization, and genuine care. Their experienced team, well-planned itinerary, and warm hospitality made the journey smooth, enjoyable, and truly unforgettable.On 25th December, while still on the Machame Route, the experience was truly special and unforgettable. Celebrating Christmas on the mountain was magical, surrounded by stunning views, fresh air, and the calm beauty of nature. The warm support from the guides, shared meals, and joyful moments together made the day even more memorable, turning Christmas into a unique adventure we will always cherish.

Having fun - Don't miss out a great opportunity with this great team-Habari Adventures. A team that's is well organised and knows Tanzania inside out. On 31st Dec 2025, I had a golden chance to climb up Kilimanjaro when we had the midnight heartbeat before the closure of the year at Machame Route. Experiencing the Machame Route on 31st December, just before the year came to a close, was truly unforgettable. The climb was filled with excitement, reflection, and determination as we walked through breathtaking landscapes, from the forest to the open alpine zones. As the year ended, the mountain atmosphere created a powerful sense of gratitude and achievement, shared through laughter, encouragement, and quiet moments of reflection. Welcoming the new year on the Machame Route felt symbolic and inspiring—a perfect way to close one chapter and step into the next with strength and hope.

An independent solo traveller - On 12th to 18th Nov,As an independent traveller, I found Habari Adventures to be the perfect companion reliable, attentive, and always ready to make each moment of the journey incredible.I was thrilled with how Habari Adventures picked me up from the airport right on time and settled me into comfortable accommodation; the meals were always fresh and delicious, prepared by friendly chefs who made every dinner feel special, and the 6‑day Machame Route trek was an unforgettable journey—from lush rainforest to alpine desert—guided safely and expertly all the way to the summit.Descending the Machame Route was refreshing and full of stunning views as we made our way back through the changing landscapes, and the tent life was one of my favourite parts—sharing stories, laughing, and vibing with other trekkers each evening made the whole journey feel like a small mountain family.I strongly endorse Habari Adventures — professional, reliable, and dedicated to making every moment valuable.

LIFE EXPERIENCE - After seeing photos circulating online -all praises to HabariAdvantures,curiosity didn't spare me.I decided to book a 4 day trip with them on 19th September.What an incredible route, Mochane route,the most popular route with beautiful paths to the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro .Its well known for its stunning landscapes,diverse environment and greatest scenes of adventure -huge shout to Habari team,Habari is the way to go

A trip to Kilimanjaro - As friends travelling to New places has always been our routine and hobby.This time with HabariAdvantures,it was an experience we never had since we formed a travel partnership .During our October chill out after work we had to book our 2 day session with HabariAdvantures which made it unforgettable and set a new record in our mind ever.Food at the lodge was hit-and-miss,the nights were fantastic.The magical Rongai Route we took,we enjoyed the solitude, stunning scenery and exotic birds. Every morning made a new chapter with HabariAdvantures. For first time travellers I recommend HabariAdvantures

An incredible hike with a fantastic team - An incredible hike with a fantastic team. Guides, Michael, Johnson and Awaliewe were so supportive and attentive. They ensured our whole group reached the summit and back without injury. The food cooked by Thomas was plentiful, delicious and delivered by Gasper with a smile. The porters ensured we were always comfortable, even singing on summit night to keep our spirits high. I highly recommend Habari Adventures to anyone considering climbing Kilimanjaro.

An unforgettable adventure with an exceptional team! - We had the chance to experience the ascent of Kilimanjaro with Habari Adventure... and what an experience!
Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish: logistics, security, listening, adaptation to the rhythm of each.
Special mention to our guides Emmanuel, Sam and Deo, for their kindness, professionalism and good communicative humor.
Each member of the team – porters, cook, assistants – has been remarkably generous and involved.
Beyond the top, it is team spirit, humanity and respect that will mark us forever.
I recommend Habari Adventure with your eyes closed to all those who wish to experience Kilimanjaro in optimal and human conditions.
A huge thank you to the whole team. We owe this summit to you, too.

Stay in Tanzania - We climbed the kili in 7 days. We've been taken good care of. Our attendants were very attentive to our needs. The food was excellent and in very large quantities. Our guides: Leon, Justo and Evan animated our hiking days with music, songs and nature stops on wildlife and vegetation which complemented our 5-6-7 hour walk. We were well prepared for the ascent by multiple relevant tips (11 hours of walking this day). It is thanks to the whole Habari team (guides, cook, porters and waiter) that we had such a great experience. We also did a 5-day safari with Habari (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro). Our guide Sherima was a real animal lover, especially the felines he had fun tracking (we saw everything: lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, wild dogs). Our days were full. We would leave early in the morning and return for dinner at our lodge. It allowed us to take wonderful photos from the comfort of our jeep and safely. We completed our trip with a visit to Zanzibar. Stan, our Habari agent has well organized our 17 day stay by planning and adapting everything according to our requests. He suggested interesting activities before the Kili and after our Safari (culture and coffee tour, snorkeling in the Indian Ocean and visiting Stown town). Having had more time, we would have liked to do the hotspring and visit Zanzibar davanrage and its spice farm. The lodges and hotels chosen by Stan were impeccable! The multiple pickups were worth it: the drivers always on time...very safe for our first visit to Tanzania.

Best local company - The experience with Habari adventure of the 7 days hike to Kilimanjaro route has been excellent. The guides Leon and Pio along with the rest of the team have been very friendly and have always been there and made our trip all great. Also highlight the food of all these days, has been delicious and very varied. An experience we will never forget!
