This charming cottage is perfectly situated at the crossroads of the paths in Piatra Craiului, nestled in a lovely open meadow called Poiana Curmăturii. The cottage features a restaurant where visitors can enjoy simple Romanian dishes or their renowned homemade pie.
- Casa Prăpăstiile Zărneștiului - If Piatra Craiului National Park is arguably the top destination in Romania, then the Prapastiile Zarnestiului gorge is a must-see attraction. This gorge, carved into spectacular rock walls stretching about 2 km, is notable for its monumental appearance, with vertical walls reaching over 200 m in some areas. The temperature here drops quickly by several degrees, as the sun only reaches inside the gorge for a few hours each day, providing a refreshing and cool retreat during the summer.

Explore one of the most scenic National Parks in Romania, the Piatra Craiului National Park. It boasts spectacular canyons, rustic mountain cabins, and majestic limestone ridges. Get ready for a casual to intermediate trek that will take us up to the Curmatura Cabin. The food they whip up is mouth-wateringly good! You have the option to dine there or carry your own packed lunch. Post lunch, we embark on our return journey through the Prapastiile Zarnestilor Canyon, a splendid locale with awe-inspiring vistas straight out of a magical storybook.
- 12-15 km medium difficulty hike, approx. 1300 m elevation height.
- This trip is recommended for the hikers that are not for the first time on a mountain and have a bit of experience on how to approach various terrains.
- Mandatory gear: Hiking boots and clothes that suits the outside weather, back pack, 2 L water, rain coat , snacks/sandwiches/sweets/fruits for lunch

I have had zero... - I have had zero experience in hiking/trekking. But like me, if you have Radu as your guide, you are in safe hands and great company!

Highly enjoyable hike - This experience was everything. Some parts were steep hiking and some easy. We had cloudy weather and nice and sunny. It was great to be guided Dinu, an experienced person who knew the ins and outs of the area. The views were amazing and the wild life on the way up and down was great. Highly recommend this hike to all that come to enjoy the fresh air and the pitoresc views.

April Hike with Plenty of Wild Flowers - What a great experience! This was a beautiful hike with plenty of gorgeous views and copious amounts of wild flowers (on April 1st!). Radu, who grew up hiking these mountains, was a fantastic guide. Not only did he provide lots of information about the area, he also offered hiking poles and gaiters for the sometimes muddy trails.
The weather forecast was for rain but we never had any. In fact, near the lodge, we even had some blue skies and the clouds moved enough to see the mountain summits.
Fantastic experience. Highly recommended!!

A Must in Brașov! - I can’t say enough great things about Day Trips Brașov. Ramona is incredibly well organized and extremely knowledgeable. I also had Hea as a guide who was terrific. I used Day Trips Brașov for three private tours. The first was Bran Castle and Pestera Mountain Villages, the second Peleș Castle and the Bucegi Natural Park and the third was the full day Pestera hike. All three I would highly recommend. They are the perfect mix of history in the region and natural beauty.

Excellent Hike With Varied Landscapes - Ramona was an awesome guide on our hike. She accommodated all our varied skill levels. The scenery was outstanding!! The food at the hut was simple but delicious. I would highly recommend taking this hike with Ramona. Not to be missed.

Amazing views with an amazing guide 5* - Absolutely amazing hiking tour couldn't recommend it more. Stunning views, great workout and our guide Laurentiu was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and just an all round lovely man to spend the day with. Won't regret booking it!

Amazing hiking day with Ramona - We had full day hiking tour to Piatra Craiului. It was perfect thanks to Ramona our tour guide. Ramona is professional and very experienced, very present and has a lot of knowledge. We enjoy the day very much. We will be back again for sure! Highly recommend!

Beyond my expectations, amazing day! - I went on this hiking at the end of December, and it was an amazing experience, with different kind of landscapes throughout the day, lots of snow and great views. Having an experienced guide in these hikings is very important, specially if you are not familiar with the regions, since the Forrest can be very dense, with lots of different paths it would be easy to get lost.
And although it was around 5/6 hours hike (and we are beginners!) it went really well, as we walked at our own pace, with stop midway for a typical Romanian lunch in a cute cabin :)
Ramona was very helpful even before the trip started, explaining the material needed and always answering our questions through WhatsApp! She also gave us lots of tips during the hike (and lended some equipment to walk easily in the snow), very knowledgeable of the region and the Romanian culture in general.
Basically we couldn’t be more happy with this tour, I really recommend to anyone looking for a great day at the nature!!

Not worth the price! - NOT WORTH THE PRICE! As a solo traveler sometimes I book things last minute, I booked this trip a day before the hike, as soon as I booked I emailed the guide just to make sure that I am all set for the next day. NO one responded to me until the morning of the hike, the guide told me that she has a rule set that should not allow anyone to book 48 hrs prior. So the morning of the hike, she needed to find someone who would be able to be my guide. Honestly, I booked this because of all the great reviews regarding the tour guide, they were all great. Except that I DID NOT get the great guide, the tour guide I got was not the best. He was very slooow, did not talk much, and I feel like I wasted my money. This hike is not worth the money, it is a very quick and easy hike. If you are a hiker I would recommend getting a taxi and doing this hike on your own. Or make sure to get a tour guide that is younger and is able to tell you more stories .
