Ideal half day adventure to Altun Ha - This was an easy way to visit Altun Ha in a half day, and our driver/guide Burt was very friendly and helpful throughout the day. The road is not in the best condition going to Altun Ha, but Burt was considerate on the drive and even introduced us to Mackeson stout after the tour! The site itself was well maintained and Burt was very detailed in his explanations of what we are seeing. Was not very crowded and had peaceful vibes as we walked among the relics of the ancient Mayan civilization. Book this tour for a great, relaxing way to experience the history of Belize.

best part of our cruise. - Finding this tour and learning from Albert was one of the best parts of our cruise. We were nervous about being late to the tour, but we were able to easily communicate with our guide and were assured all would be well. (Note local time vs ship time!). Albert was a wealth of information about Belize as well as Mayan culture. His van was clean and comfortable, and his driving was excellent. He was patient with us as we were taking pictures and shared a great bit of information with us about the site. It was a great private tour and we were thankful to not be a part of the larger groups also visiting the site. Albert was sure to clarify what was known and what was speculated about Mayan culture and history. We will definitely reach and schedule another tour when we return to Belize. Bring $10 cash per person for the entrance fee. The site also takes card I believe. Best for any traveler. The atmosphere was relaxed. It took about 3-4 hours round trip.

Albert: An Exceptional Guide - Albert is a top-notch tour guide - exceptionally knowledgeable about the history of Altun Ha as well as the history of Belize, the Garifuna culture and able to answer whatever questions we came up with. He’s patient, funny, fun to be around and just an all-round good guy! ❤️

A great private tour. - We were easily met at the port and led to our van for the ride. We met Jeff who was a wealth of information and very nice. The drive to Altun Ha was interesting. It was nice to see the diversity of the area. Jeff was very informative about the culture. When we reached the site Jeff met us again after we toured the museum and led us to the ruins. The tour was exactly what we hoped it would be. Since we weren't with large group we were able to explore the ruins with someone with local knowledge. Highly Recommend

Great Tour with Knowledgeable Guide - From start to finish Alfred was an amazing guide. He was very knowledgeable about the site itself as well as things along the way. He answered all of our questions and took an interest in us too. We walked to the top of the temple which was quite steep in places but definitely manageable. It was a wonderful tour that I would recommend to anyone!

Alton Rah tour - We booked our tour at literally the last minute, which I feel contributed to our challenges. Our driver/guide, Wayne, was superb and a source of not only great and interesting information, but also real life insights we can all learn from. If we were only evaluating him and not the total experience we would give 5 stars to this tour. Downsides: - Viator's app under pickup points does NOT include the water taxi terminal for cruise ships. We included that info on the notes. We were picked up at the terminal - My wife was using a motorized scooter. That was also noted in our comments, but we weren't able to take it with us. If it weren't for the last minute booking, we might have been able to resolve that in advance. - We went anyway. It was too late to cancel. On arriving, my wife tried walking to the museum and wore herself out and was in a lot of pain. To make matters worse there were no suitable places for her to sit in the museum. Having some sort of wheel chair rental at the museum works would have been wonderful in addition to chairs/benches in the museum which would also have made a HUGE difference. Adding insult to injury it started raining buckets. Wayne tried to do some of his information sharing in the museum, but I was too concerned for my Honey. We finally got her back to the van and Wayne looked after her, while I did a Very quick look at the ruins. Under different circumstances viewing them with a knowledgeable guide like Wayne would have been a super treat. I don't think you can go wrong with A Plus Tours

The experience was... - The experience was disappointing due to ongoing issues with communication. We were repeatedly told to “take our time,” which directly resulted in delays, yet expectations around timing were never clearly explained. We also asked in advance about stopping for fresh fruit and were told this could be done on the return trip. We understand that the stop may ultimately not have been possible; however, this was not communicated to us. On the drive back, we passed multiple fruit stands with no explanation or guidance provided. Overall, the lack of clear communication negatively impacted the experience, and clearer direction would have significantly improved the tour.
