This ride was a gift from one of the churches I serve. I had used the song "Over the River and Through the Woods" in a sermon at Thanksgiving. I had mentioned I had NEVER been on a one horse open sleigh ride. The congregation gave me the opportunity: over the river and through the woods with sleigh bells jingling and my daughter and grandchildren with me. What a wonderful afternoon! The young man who was our driver was so gracious and gave us many interesting little facts about the horse, the trappings, the blanket and the area! Just a delightful way to cross this off my bucket list.

Quiet & peaceful. Only jungle bells could be heard. Enjoyed the ride!

The staff was more than friendly before, during and after the ride. I've already recommended this to friends.

We made the reservation at the last minute when is was clear the weather conditions would be perfect. There was an opening and we were so glad! The driver was very friendly. The horse, Pete, wore sleigh bells which made just a lovely sound on the ride. They had warm blankets for us, and we enjoyed. hot toddies which we brought with us. It was twilight and Ellison Park was beautiful and peaceful with some very happy scenes of people celebrating at the Pavilion Shelter and families skating on the ice rink. We enjoyed some time around the fire pit before and after the ride. We highly recommend it and will definitely do it again. We also learned that Ellison Park is beautiful and has a lot to offer, so this is great PR for the park too! We will be back to both Heberle and the Park.
