Flamingoes, herons, pelicans, cormorants, and crocs out in full force - We had a great time on this tour with Manuel. We booked pretty last minute and comms via WhatsApp to arrange the details worked very well. Nature was good to us that day. We saw flamingoes, herons, pelicans, cormorants, and the crocs were out in full force. It was just the two of us and the guide, which was great as we could move around the boat freely to take pictures. Worth paying a little more if you want more of a private tour. We communicated in Spanish to learn more abut the environment and the lives of the animals. It is worth mentioning that the guide had pictures and some basic English terms to explain the details (in case Spanish isn't an option). It was great to get a glimpse of Las Coloradas as we made a pitstop near the reservoir. The colour in December was less bright, but it wasn't our main aim to see the pink lakes. The tour was concluded with a quick swim.

Nice experience - Miguel introduced us to different species of birds, crocodiles and flamingos. We spent 3 hours on the mangrove, in a quiet and exotic landscape. Even without speaking the language, the guide did everything to make us understand, with great kindness and patience. An experience to do absolutely in this small fishing village.

Very fun boat ride to see birds, crocodiles and mangroves estuaries - Great morning for our family. I saw heaps of excellent birds (flamingoes, herons, egrets, pelican, frigatebirds, and a roseate spoonbill 💓). My non-birding-family also liked the boat ride, the up-close-an-personal croc encounters, and the mud bath and swim. We had good communication with the operators via WhatsApp before hand, an the meeting point always easy to find.

Nostalgic Return to Río Lagartos - I lived in Río Lagartos in 2018 as a Master’s student doing fieldwork, and coming back with my husband was incredibly special. The boat tour through the mangroves brought back so many memories, and it was wonderful to share the place where I once worked. We saw flamingos, herons, and even a crocodile, just as magical as I remembered. Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate, making the experience both fun and meaningful. I highly recommend it!

Flamingos - We stayed one night at Villa de Pescadore and went out on a 8am boat tour. The hotel was very nice, the room had everything you need and it served a scrambled egg and fruit breakfast. Our captain, Paco (who was right in front of our hotel) was great. He spoke perfect English and was careful to spot and name all the local flora, fauna and wildlife. Loved seeing the flamingo's! I was a good time to visit as there weren't many tourists and a decent amount of flamingos. We also visited the pink waters of Los Coloradas. It was pink, but not like all the touched up photos. We ate in lunch and dinner in two different restaurants, there were several to chose from. All about the same menu, lots of shrimp! lol. There is absolutely nothing else to do there, so one night is plenty. There are NO souvenir shops, grocery stores or anything to buy other than food and drink! It looks like the town has not been touched for the last 20 years.
