Upon gathering at Phil Foster Park, participants will paddle over sandbars towards Peanut Island. Along the journey, keep an eye out for spotted eagle rays, vibrant starfish, and possibly even a manatee or two! Once on the island, the group will explore either the natural lagoon or the snorkeling rocks, depending on the conditions. During the winter months, the search will focus on manatees, while throughout the year, the group will look for sea turtles, tropical fish, rays, and more! This excursion is planned for both high and low tide. At high tide, Peanut Island’s waters become a breathtaking display of crystal-clear aquamarine beauty—some of the clearest in South Florida. Please note that weather conditions may impact water visibility.
