The tour of the Alto Mayo Valley begins in the city of Rioja, situated 87 miles north of Tarapoto. After a drive of over two hours, the group will reach the source of the Tioyacu River.
- Chacra Vieja - Following the visit to Tio Yacu, the tour continues to the Chacra Vieja tourist center. Here, visitors can sample traditional drinks and purchase local crafts. A delightful lunch featuring regional dishes made with fresh ingredients will be served.
- Moyobamba - Post-lunch, the tour proceeds to Moyobamba, the city of orchids, to explore the orchidarium.
