• Powder Tower - Originally known as the Sand Tower, this is one of the fortification wall towers from medieval Riga, constructed in 1330.
• Riga Town Hall Square - The Town Hall Square in Riga has been entirely reconstructed, as it was destroyed during World War II along with its historic buildings. Visitors are greeted by the historical façade of the House of the Blackheads, the rebuilt Town Hall, and other structures. This square is where the city’s Christmas tree was first lit 500 years ago, now commemorated by a memorial plaque, and a new tree is decorated annually.
• St. Peter’s Church - As the tallest church in Riga, St. Peter’s Church is one of the oldest and most significant examples of medieval monumental architecture in the Baltic States.
• Livu Square - It is surprising to think that this square was once the site of the Riga River, a shipping route for Latvian grain until the 16th century. • Three Brothers - This is the oldest residential complex in Riga, dating back to the 15th century. The three closely built houses have long been known as the Three Brothers, with a legend suggesting they were built by men from the same family. These centuries-old buildings now house the Museum of Architecture and the National Center for the Protection of Cultural Monuments.
• Riga Cathedral - The Cathedral is the largest and one of the oldest sacred buildings from the medieval era in the Baltic region, featuring Romanesque, early Gothic, Baroque, and Art Nouveau elements. Today, it hosts church services as well as concerts by both local and internationally acclaimed musicians.
• Jekaba Iela - The Riga Archdiocesan Cathedral is the main Catholic church in Latvia. Its slender tower has best preserved the pyramidal shape typical of Riga’s medieval church towers. Historically, it is also the first Latvian parish church in Riga, established in 1523.
• Swedish Gate (Zviedru Varti) - The Swedish Gate is the only remaining gate of the original eight in Riga’s fortification wall.
