Experience Latvian culinary culture on a food tour organized by Rigatrips, held at the biggest open-air marketplace in Europe. This tour offers an insight into local Latvian gastronomy, featuring an expanse of authentic local food items including meat, bread, cheese, fish, indigenous fermented vegetables, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, and confectioneries.
- Cancellations - please be aware that we have minimum of 6 poeple per tour to run. If there will be not enough customers - a day before the tour we will offer you another day of tour or a compensation.
- Tour is available for vegeterians, as about 70% of the food samples will be available also for you plus an extra vegetarian offer in one of the places
- Latvian cuisine is based on meat and fish, so if you do not eat either of it, you can still participate in the tour as 60% of the food will still be possible for you to try.
- Not recommended for vegan travellers, as only 40% of the food on the tour is vegan friendly.

Very pleasant experience in Riga Central market - What an experience of the market itself! Riga central market is worth visiting, observing and enjoying. Coming here on your own will be good, but being part of this particular tour even better. We visited many local stall, got clear suggestion how to shop and what to pick and met some nice people in the group too.

Amazing way to discover Latvian food and culture - I had a fantastic experience on this Latvian food tasting tour at Riga Central Market. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about Latvian culture and traditional food. We tasted a wide variety of local specialties including smoked fish, cheeses, rye bread, pickled vegetables, sweets, and local drinks.

Great experience at the Riga central market - We had really good time with Guna and local food tastings at Riga Central market. Must do tour in Riga, a lot of information, tasty food and all in all a positive experience!

Tour of Central Market - It was a small group which was great. Started a little late and our guide was good, but not completely knowledgeable on the food scene or culture of food in Latvia. She was personable and friendly. I was hoping that we would spend more time looking at different places in the Riga rather than exclusively the Central Market. Still, glad I attended, and I met some lovely people.

A must visit when in Riga - Very interesting markets and a must visit
The guide was certainly friendly and highly knowledgeable. She made the tour very enjoyable.
It was good to try the different foods. As we were only a tour of3 we did not get a wide selection but it was still a good experience trying the food and drinks

Waste of time - The operator issues tickets for canceled trips. This is very unprofessional and confusing for guests.

It was cancelled on the day and communication needs improving - Unfortunately our trip was cancelled on the day. Our booking was for 12.30, we had received a WhatsApp reminder the day before then went to the meeting point 15 minutes before the start time. 30 minutes despite no further WhatsApp, my husband happened to check the emails and noted it had been cancelled at 11am that morning. It would have been more helpful to stick to one form of communication and that would have prevented us tailoring our morning and waiting around for 30 minutes. We understand things get cancelled but better communication would have been more helpful.

Cancelled with no notice - Waited at the meeting point for 10 mins (the small print said the guide may be up to 5mins late coming from another tour), then tried calling but had no answer. 13 mins after the tour was supposed to start we had a text saying the tour had been cancelled and we would be refunded in 3-5 business days (the refund did come earlier than this). Shame as we were looking forward to it, but we went to the market anyway and still enjoyed it.
