This tour offers an insight into local Latvian gastronomy, featuring an expanse of authentic local food items including meat, bread, cheese, fish, indigenous fermented vegetables, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, and confectioneries.
- Cancellations - please be aware that we have minimum of 6 poeple per tour to run. If there will be not enough customers - a day before the tour we will offer you another day of tour or a compensation.
- Tour is available for vegeterians, as about 70% of the food samples will be available also for you plus an extra vegetarian offer in one of the places
- Latvian cuisine is based on meat and fish, so if you do not eat either of it, you can still participate in the tour as 60% of the food will still be possible for you to try.
- Not recommended for vegan travellers, as only 40% of the food on the tour is vegan friendly.

We will be waiting for you at the Grecinieku street in the Riga Old Town below the sign 18 with a green box and the official Riga Guide sign on the neck of the guide. It can happen, that the guide is 5 min late, as is coming from the previous Old Town tour.

Highly recommended! - We were a group of about 12 international guests. The guide was funny and humorous. The whole tour was entertaining with very good tips and recommendations. We learned a lot about the country, the people, their traditions and culture. A very nice experience and absolutely worth the money, with all the information and countless tastings.

Great experience - Lovely couple of hours with our guide, Guna. Very friendly and always interesting to listen to. Tour very good and lots of interesting tastes. Good opportunity to buy some of the goods to take home where they are more reasonably priced. Recommended

Excellent local food tour - Our tour guide was excellent..... knowledgeable, enthusiastic and interesting. The samples we tried were generous and incredibly varied (smoked meats, local liqueur, wine, fish, condiments, chocolate). Would recommend

Perfect way to experiece the market - Very nice! A perfekt way to experience the Rīga Central Market. The guide (Guna) was enthusiastic, friendly and easy going. We would not have known what to taste without her. The duration (2 h) was perfect, enough but not too long.

Excellent food tasting tour - Guna was an amazing guide! There was a great variety of food tastings and I learnt a lot about Latvian food and traditions. The champagne was also a nice touch. A must do!

Enjoyable and informative - The Riga central markets are huge and you could easily spend a couple of hours wandering around yourself, but I don't think you'd get the full benefit. The guide was informative and we sampled lots of local foods we'd never have touched otherwise (some good, some not so good! :), and we met some nice people in the group, so I'd recommend

Would have been good, if the tour happened. - Sadly the tour operator had a meltdown and disappeared. I would try again, if im ever back in the area.

Where did the guide go? - Tour started out as planned, met at the meeting point, Gina explained how the day would go, all participants arrived, etc. One group had some mobility impaired members and they went ahead with instructions of where the group would meet them. When we got to the meeting point near Riga Central Market, they were not there. The guide disappeared. Most of us thought she went to look for them, but within about 5 minutes the mobility challenged people had arrived and still no guide. We later received messages that our trip was canceled and we’d receive a refund. Other, more disturbing, messages were sent later. All in all, I do hope Guna is ok, but the situation could have been handed much differently.
