South coast fantastic - Beautiful experience with Kris and Robert. We saw amazing places described perfectly and a waterfall lit up at night with the Northern Lights nearby. Absolutely fantastic!!

Icebergs, Volcanos and Glaciers. - This trip started at 7am and finished at 10pm but was worth every mile to see the waterfalls, Glacier, Glacier Lagoon, Diamond Beach, as well as all the sights along the way. We were expertly driven by our driver Irek and Guided by Mr G who very clearly was full of knowledge about what he was showing us and also informing us about Icelands historic facts. Clearly 2 very passionate members of staff.

South Coast: Jokulsarlon and Diamond Beach - It was a really amazing experience. The tour guide Mr. G and the wonderful driver Irek were excellent in making us comfortable throughout. Got to learn a lot about Iceland and the other places that we visited.

Very long day but worth it - First of all, prepare yourselves - this will be a VERY long day, about 14.5 hours in total. But this is part of the beauty of doing this with this company. The route is along the main ringroad in the South of Iceland and is not especially difficult driving territory in itself (i.e. nothing off-road), however unless you have multiple capable drivers, you will struggle to do the length of this journey to Jökulsárlón (including the sights before it) and then back again in just one day, arriving back late at night. I wouldn't advise it, as a seasoned long-distance driver myself - there's too much potential for fatigue-related issues as a solo driver with a pure non-stop driving time of about 9.5 hours. If you are doing this by yourself, I would suggest driving up to Jökulsárlón (almost 5 hours) and then doubling back partway to stay at a hotel overnight in one of the small towns en route, e.g. Vik or Kirkubaejarklastur, before returning to Reykjavik the following day. But why bother? Here, I must give a shout-out to our wonderful driver, Maciej, in whose very capable hands we felt very safe. He was able to navigate the Icelandic four wheel drive bus on small gravel roads and in the darkness too after a long day, something I would not have especially fancied doing in a normal car on an unfamiliar road, even if technically possible. He was calm and professional and got us to where we needed to be on time with practically no effort on our part. Another shout-out of course must go to the wonderful tour guide, Juliana, who gave great commentary through the long journey, but wisely did not talk all the time to allow people to rest a little. She gave us the requisite amount of information at each place of interest and was very engaging and pleasant. There are plenty of stops along the way for food and comfort breaks, just make sure to keep an eye on the clock so as not to delay the trip - some of the breaks are quite short and necessarily so, given the length of the day. For me, particular highlights were Skógafoss, the mighty 60m high waterfall about halfway along the route to Jökulsárlón, the massive glaciers of Eyjafjallajökull (the infamous volcano of the same name which caused all that air disruption in 2010) and Vatnajökull and of course the glacier lagoon of Jökulsárlón. Speaking of which, unless you have a VERY good reason not to (e.g. a complete phobia of being on water), do not go all the way to Jökulsárlón and not go on the amphibious vehicle trip! It is the absolute highlight to drive to the water's edge, plunge in with the boat function seamlessly taking over and within moments being in the midst of white, blue and black icebergs with their myriad twisted and hollowed forms, having broken off from the mother glacier some while back. If you are lucky, you will also see some of the big seals who live safely in the lagoon with its plentiful fish supply and absolute safety from Orcas. Pre-book the boat part with the trip itself for total ease but if you haven't done, they will try to accommodate you if you change your mind - but all depends on availability. Diamond beach was OK, but couldn't hold a candle to the lagoon cruise for me, at least on the day I went - it's a few fragments of the icebergs washing up onto a black sand beach, which makes for a few pretty macro pictures. I just had one piece of constructive advice for the tour operators - they try to squeeze in a quick trip to Seljalandsfoss (a similarly tall but more slender waterfall than Skógafoss) on the way back because you can go right behind it and actually to some extent into a cavern behind - I have been to it before, so I know what the path is like. It is chosen to be towards the end of the trip since you can get a bit wet going behind the waterfall, but at least on the day I went in September, it was essentially pitch darkness by the time we go there. Although Julianna correctly pointed out that the path to the waterfall was lit by artificial lighting, what was perhaps not appreciated was that this was only to the halfway point for the flattest, safest part of the path. After this it is dark, for a short distance you can see enough to be safe, but then the path rises, goes to the right and then curves behind the waterfall without lighting. In the daytime, it's a bit slippery and steep in places but OK. I would however not recommend attempting to go all the way to the back in the pitch darkness, as the last part could be very treacherous. Especially if people are under pressure of a 20 minute visit time, mistakes could happen with bad outcomes. I think most people have common sense not to try the full thing when you can't see where you are going, but not all people have this common sense, and especially if you are young and tired you might just "go for it". I think it's safer to stop just after where the lights end and take picture there rather than going round the back in the darkness. All in all, a very good day despite the length but in some ways as I said, the length of the day makes going on the coach trip all the more necessary. Take waterproof outer layers, headgear (hood or hat etc), gloves and internal layers for warmth. And don't forget to enjoy the lagoon. Ice Ice Baby - Long day but favorite part of my Iceland trip. The icebergs are amazing. And take the boat ride. Pack snacks if you want to see the sights you dont have enough time to eat and see local sights.

Super recommended - It is an intense plan all day but worth it, the guide Flosh excellent 10/10, drove and explained us throughout the trip if they do I recommend that the next day you do not schedule another departure because they will want to rest

A great big, long, day!! - To see the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach from Reykjavik takes real commitment - both for the tour operator and the client. It was a very long day, but oh, so worth it! I had always wanted to see this marvelous place, and my traveling companion had never been to Iceland so I wanted him to see the sights of the southern coast. Check, Check, Check! Our guide, Juliana, made a point to tell us right from the beginning that timing was going to be key, and between all of us travelers and her kind nudging we managed to stay on track time wise. Her knowledge of the glacial formations and how these icebergs were made, as well her general knowledge of the other impressive sights on this tour, was very much appreciated and added much to our day. The Lagoon is a sight not to be missed, and we were happy to have booked this through Reykjavik Excursions.

Must do and must experience! - This was a very cool experience with the glacier lagoon boat tour. Despite the rain, the tour pushed through and it wad beautiful to see the glaciers and be able to touch an 800 year old ice!! Definitely worth it. Be prepared though as it’s a long trip. We started at 7:30am and got back to our hotel at 10:30pm. However, our tour guide Dylan was amazing through and through. Our bus driver Richard was also solid! It was also worth nothing that the tour has a maximum of 49 participants, but our specific tour was nowhere near full. We were very comfortable!

Not family friendly tour. Avoid with kids - This is not good when you travel as a family. They have small 10 min stops and don't give enough time for kids to eat. The places are very crowded and you have to wait for a while to get anything and then can't have enough time for kids to eat. The smaller stops could have been combined to a bigger lunch time.
