Whale Watching Tour in Iceland - This Whale watching tour was one of the most exciting tours we experienced. The tour guide who did the queuing of what direction we should look at for whale sightings was very well versed in what type of whales were being spotted. The crew worked hand in hand to give the whales their space unlike the smaller amphibious boat tours that were very aggressive circling these mammals to the point that it look liked an assault. The Andrea and her crew were very professional, courteous and offered an education of these marvelous marine mammals. Highly recommended !

No skip - A++++ must try everyone . All of us on this boat was soo lucky- dolphins and whales showed us a special program. But this not usual, most of the time you can see just dolphins, puffins. But whales this time come to the boat.

Beautiful and special - Our guides Joel and Lucas did a great job. The skipper was very respectful of the whales feeding too. Perhaps there's weren't so much. Recommended. The waffles were good too!

Thar she blows - We went out with Reykjavik Sailors (Special Tours?) on July 17th. The weather was pretty typical Icelandic with overcast skies, but very little wind. We were on the boat Andrea, a large 3 level boat. The Capt and crew were great. On the way out we saw many puffins and northern Gannets. Some in the water and some flying. Watching the gannets hit the water at 100kph was amazing. The crew educated the passengers about the birds and whales and bay on the way out. We saw several minke whales, even though they are shy from being hunted in the past. The Capt put us on a small pod of 3 humpback whales. A mother and calf, and a very large female or male. We saw others further away. Fortunately our boat wasn't too crowded and most people were accommodating of others when taking photos. We had one do a pop-up and eyeball us before breaching behind the boat. The humpbacks came so incredibly close you could see then underwater and hear them breath when they broached. We were on the whales for at least 45 mins. Everyone had plenty of time to get many photos. As an added bonus, one of the crew takes very good telephoto pictures and posts them on their website. You can download the photos from your trip. I cannot speak to previous cancelations or crowding, but the Capt and crew were great and our experience was wonderful. People need to understand the weather and whales are not controlled by anyone. If you want to be "guaranteed" to see something, go to an aquarium. We would happily book with Reykjavik Sailors again.
