- Thingvellir National Park - Experience the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, one of only two places worldwide where a tectonic rift is accessible on land. Here, the North American and Eurasian plates separate at a rate of 2 cm per year, forming the striking Almannagjá gorge that accompanies the walk. Þingvellir is also the birthplace of Icelandic democracy, with the Alþing parliament first convening here in 930 AD. The private guide will bring these stories to life with insights and details that a shared tour cannot provide.
- Geothermal Area Krysuvik - The term “geyser” originated here, named after the ancient Great Geysir. Today, its neighbor Strokkur is the main attraction, erupting every 5–8 minutes with a column of boiling water reaching up to 30 meters high. A private guide ensures the perfect vantage point before each eruption. Guests can leisurely explore the geothermal field, featuring bubbling mud pools, steaming vents, and earth stained in vibrant oranges and yellows.
- Gullfoss Waterfall - Iceland’s most powerful waterfall sends the glacial Hvítá river tumbling in two stages into a 32-meter canyon, creating a constant mist and, on clear days, stunning rainbows. In winter, the edges freeze into cathedral-like ice formations, creating an otherworldly scene. Guests can take their time on the viewing path, as there is no bus to catch or group to wait for — just them and Gullfoss.
- Fridheimar - A fourth-generation family farm that grows tomatoes year-round in the Icelandic highlands using geothermal heat. Visitors can step inside the warm, vine-scented greenhouse and enjoy Fridheimar’s famous lunch: a rich, creamy tomato soup made from the morning’s harvest, served with homemade bread and a non-alcoholic welcome drink. The farm also offers a Bloody Mary made with their own tomato mix — a Golden Circle tradition for those who enjoy it. Unhurried, delicious, and uniquely Icelandic.
- Kerid Crater - Formed approximately 6,500 years ago when a magma chamber collapsed, Kerið is unlike any other crater on the Golden Circle. The caldera walls are layered with deep red and black volcanic rock streaked with green moss, descending steeply to a vivid turquoise-green lake at the bottom. Guests can walk the rim for panoramic views or take the path down to the water’s edge. On certain summer evenings, musicians perform concerts here, floating on a boat on the lake, as the crater’s acoustics are exceptional.
- Reykjavik - The private vehicle will return guests directly to their Reykjavík accommodation. The estimated return time is early evening, depending on the pace and stops during the day. There are no shared transfers — it’s door-to-door service from start to finish.
