A great way to see the area with fabulous wine tastings - Although this is listed as "solo", we are a married couple traveling together. This is a private tour which picked us up and dropped us at our hotel. We had a great tour. Bryce, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the area, stopping at places of interest on the way to Martinborough and sharing personal anecdotes from his life in the area. The wineries we visited were all top notch, and it was a pleasure spending the day with Bryce. Tom, who owns the tour company went out of his way to meet us as we were leaving town on the ferry, and thanked us with a nice gift. Highly recommended.

Top wine tour with an amazing guide - An amazing trip, Tom is so knowledgeable about everything in Wellington and showed us loads of things before we even left the city. It’s a stunningly beautiful drive out of the city and a poignant stop at a WWI site before dropping into the winelands. Our first stop was probably our highlight as we stopped off at Le Gra. A small place run by a family and in a quiet side road……….heaven. The staff were amazing and after a few pictures we were told about the wines by Brian. We then had a very tasty lunch and a look around the vines. Would highly recommend this place. Our next winery was Johner Estate, proper in the sticks, but so nice. Great tastings from the really knowledgeable young lady. I was talking proper BS now so was loving it. Our last stop was in Martinborough, a place called Poppies, we had a few photos in the vines before sampling a few of the liquid goods. Again, the staff are so knowledgeable, they seem to know a lot more than me and I have been tasting wine for a lot longer than them. We then headed back to Wellington. What an experience which was for my 40th birthday and worth every penny. Tom is a very easy guy to talk to and knows answers to pretty much anything you ask him. What a stunning tour, would highly recommend to anyone want to see the winelands of Wairarapa.

Must do tour - I took the Private Wairarapa Wine Delights Tour from Wellington with Tom and it was a fantastic experience. All of the stops were amazing but Poppy's was my absolute favorite. It was great getting to chat with some of the owners to learn more about their wines. The icing on top was the fact that Tom takes photos of you during the experience. As I was traveling solo during my trip it was so nice to have some candid shots along with some additional staged ones to commemorate the experience. I will 100% be scheduling another experience with Tom if I ever get back to Wellington for another trip.

Fabulous wine tasting tour out of Wellington - This was such an amazing day. Tom is such a wonderfully relaxed and knowledgeable guy who loves showing people wine country around Martinborough. His commentary throughout the day made this a truly memorable experience. Our wine tasting at Le Gra and lunch provided by Nicky Geary and Brian was delightful. The rose was particularly tasty. Later, at Johner Estate, we were surprised with freshly picked grapes in addition to the delicious wines. Our stop at Poppies was so much fun. The Sauvignon Semillon was something we don’t usually seek out, but this one was really good. Since Tom heard that we were Lord of the Rings fans, on the way back to Wellington, he stopped at Kaitoke Regional Park where Rivendell scenes were filmed. That was a real treat. Tom seems to know everyone, and they know him. If we ever make it back to New Zealand, we will certainly book his Foodie Delights Tour. Thanks for an unforgettable day!

A Day of Wining 😊 - What an amazing day!! My husband and I didn’t really notice the word ‘private’ in the description of our tour…so were surprised when it was just the two of us and Tom. He really made us feel special. Tom is very knowledgeable, friendly and a great person to spend a day with. Brian and Nicky at Le Gra winery host a really nice tasting and lunch, and shared a lot of information about their operation. We met the owner at Johner’s, and Poppies winery was elegant and fun. We saw a lot of the countryside with a few stops at some scenic and interesting places. Would highly recommend this tour.
