We teach you about the waves, rips, potential hazards and surfing etiquette. Then techniques on how to carry your board, attach your leg rope, paddle for a wave and stand up. Once in the water, your coach will assist you with wave selection and help you balance as you get a feel for paddling and standing up on the waves. Your coach will be with you every step of the way to make sure you feel safe and get the best advice for a top quality lesson.

Lessons are generally held at Redgate Beach, however if conditions aren't suitable we will notify you of the best location for the conditions on the day. Please meet the Margaret River Surf School van at Redgate Beach Car Park 10 minutes prior to your lesson commencing.

I feel like I have gone from beginner to intermediate from just one session! - During my holiday I decided to go surfing.
My instructor for the day was David. He was very kind and friendly. He also gave me great feedback on my pop-up and how to catch the wave at an angle. Once I implemented his advice, I finally figured out what was holding me back from progressing. I feel much more confident catching waves now thanks to David!

Private session surfing - Had my 2 kids doing their 1st ever session. It was amazing! Kids loved it! Their instructor Lawrence as very good with instructions and took them to their 1st stand on the board while riding the waves. TY very much for that, we had an awesome experience.

Highly Recommend Margaret River Surf School - Our experience was wonderful. Alex and Lauren were excellent instructors. The location was amazing! We had a mix of ages, but all of us were beginners and they made all of us get the right amount of attention to have the best time. Special credit to Lauren for the time she spent with my 7 year old nephew. He had a blast! Thank You!

Super coach - Great Job from the coach who gave me back my confidence after months without surfing.
Alex was super nice, not judging and actively listening/answering our questions.
The briefing on sand was very interesting with a lot of useful reminders ans tips.
We appreciated our moments.

3 days of guided surf - great experience - Visiting the region from Japan, two friends and I (beginner/intermediate surfers) booked 3 days of guided surf sessions, and we had a great experience. Arthur was thoughtful, informative, encouraging, pushing us at the right times and letting us free at others, and fund to hang with over the 3 days. We visited a variety of points and got some great experience surfing a range of conditions in one of the most beautiful (but challenging!) surf environments in the world. Arthur took care of all the logistics and was on time for our early morning sessions. I recommend anyone looking for a guided surf in the region to consider Margaret River Surf School - with Jarrad and Arthur you are in good hands.

Great experience from office to ocean. Recommendation 100% - These guys were amazing.
From Jarrad in the office, making everything possible (even last minute) and Patrick and Arthur in the water. My son loved the lessons with these guys. Even on the days when the waves felt more like a washingmachine. Arthur and my son had a lot of fun and were smiling. They love their job and working with kids and you can feel that. Thank you for making our days!

Surfing Australia ✅ - Thanks for a great (& patient) private lesson with Arthur this morning!! I can thoroughly recommend it to all ages….even over 50’s!!! If you are in Margret River and want to get in the ocean… use these guys!!! You won’t regret it!!! I had an amazing 2hrs lesson!!

Awesome experience! Highly recommend - My Fiancé and I went for a 2 hour surf lesson with Patrick, neither of us had much prior experience surfing and had an absolute blast. Patrick was very experienced and gave us all the ins and out and at the end of it we were able to surf a wave. What an amazing experience highly recommend to anyone! Ask for Patrick

Patrick was super knowledgeable and approachable! - My partner and I had been surfing a couple times a week for the past few months and needed a coach to help us solidify some of the basics. We worked with Patrick and really appreciated how he broke everything down for us! We are at slightly different levels, but Patrick was very conscious of how he split his time between us giving us each tasks and great feedback. We'll definitely be having our next lesson with him!
