- Ravello - Explore Ravello, known as the “Terrace” of the Amalfi Coast! This charming village was discovered and cherished by English poets and writers of the past. For over seven centuries, it has drawn celebrities, from St. Francis to the Renaissance Italian writer Boccaccio. Richard Wagner composed the second act of the opera Parsifal here in 1880, and D.H. Lawrence penned Lady Chatterley’s Lover in 1927. The renowned American author Gore Vidal lived and wrote in Ravello for more than thirty years, eventually becoming an honorary citizen. It has served as the backdrop for iconic movie scripts, such as Beat the Devil by Truman Capote, featuring actors Humphrey Bogart and Greta Garbo. Enjoy a free visit.
- Amalfi - Participants will have the opportunity to explore Amalfi independently. It was one of the four Maritime Republics of Italy, cities with powerful fleets that dominated the Mediterranean trade routes (the others being Venice, Pisa, and Genoa). This brought wealth and power to the city, especially in the 10th and 11th centuries, when Amalfi was at its peak. Be sure to visit the Romanesque Church of St. Andrew.
- Amalfi Coast - From the participants’ pickup location, the journey to Amalfi and Positano will include a ride along the Amalfi Coast, one of the most breathtaking coastlines in the world. Dramatic cliffs and stunning panoramas, with beautiful mountains and lemon-growing terraces overlooking the sea, will make this ride unforgettable!
- Positano - This town has long been recognized as one of the premier destinations on the Italian coast, known for attracting the jet-set crowd. Numerous restaurants, shops, and boutiques cater to the affluent visitors here, offering clothes, shoes, and local handicrafts, which are a local specialty. In the lower part of town, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta was renovated in Baroque style, with its dome elegantly covered in glazed majolica tiles. Inside, it houses a painting of the Black Madonna, believed to have been brought to the church by monks from Constantinople in the 12th century.
