- Custer State Park Visitor Center - Take a brief stop here to stretch your legs, watch a film about the history of Custer State Park, and then set out to discover buffalo and other wildlife on the Wildlife Loop Road.
- Custer State Park - The next destination is Custer State Park, a 72,000-acre state park and wildlife refuge. It is home to a herd of 1,500 bison and a variety of other wildlife that roam freely across diverse landscapes, including rolling prairie grasslands and rugged mountains.
- Heddy Draw Overlook - Visit one of the most picturesque overlooks in Custer State Park. The Mount Coolidge Fire Lookout Tower, constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the late 1930s, is visible from here.
