Laugavegur - Start the day with a hearty breakfast before embarking on a hike to the next destination. Begin by crossing the Hrafntinnusker black obsidian desert and exploring the vibrantly colored Reykjafjöll rhyolite mountains. Reach the summit of Jökultungur, offering breathtaking views over Fjallabak and Álfavatn lake. Experience the thrill of a river crossing by foot! In the evening, unwind, savor a well-deserved dinner, and enjoy the views of the Icelandic Highlands.

Álftavatn - Emstrur

Laugavegur - After a satisfying breakfast, continue the journey towards the volcanoes via Mælifellssandur! Pass by the Stórasúla and Hattafell volcanoes, offering spectacular views of Mýrdalsjökull & Eyjafjallajökull. On the way to Botnar, a picturesque green oasis, witness Markarfljótsgljúfur, a deep gorge plunging 200m below, carved by glacial waters. Celebrate the day’s efforts with a delicious dinner, bonding with new friends and appreciating the stunning scenery.

Emstrur - Thórsmörk - Reykjavík

Thorsmork - After breakfast, depart Emstrur and head towards Þórsmörk. Traverse Almenningar gorge near Mount Einhyrningur, where unparalleled views of the glaciers await. As Þórsmörk is reached, the landscape transforms into dense birch forests and breathtaking mountainous scenery. Congratulations on completing the Laugavegur trail!

On the return journey to Reykjavík, catch a glimpse of Seljalandsfoss. Arrive back in Reykjavík around 21:30, with drop-off at the BSI bus stop in Reykjavík.
