Lake McKenzie - Depart from Pippies Beachhouse promptly at 7 am as the Fraser Island Tours begin with a 20-minute barge journey from Inskip Point to Fraser Island.
Marvel at the drive along the initial stretch of the 75-mile beach to Eurong. Then, venture inland towards Lake McKenzie.
Upon arrival at Lake McKenzie, enjoy a swim in its exceptionally pure, clear waters. This stunning lake is beyond words.
Central Station Rainforest - Travel to Central Station for lunch and a stroll along the unique Wanggoolba Creek. Discover Fraser Island’s history from a time before it was protected. Afterwards, return to 75-mile beach and head back to Pippies camp.
Cathedrals on Fraser - Reach the remarkable campsite and unwind after a busy day. Then, proceed to Corrigin Sandblow for a breathtaking sunset! (Pippies is the only tour group with access)
It’s dinner time! Enjoy a BBQ with your new Fraser Family and spend the evening socializing around a campfire or in the covered seating area.
Champagne Pools, Eli Creek, Maheno Shipwreck, and the Pinnacles
Eli Creek - A brief drive down the beach leads to Eli Creek, the largest creek on the Eastern Beach. Walk up the boardwalk with a rubber ring and float down the tranquil waters. Eli Creek channels up to 4 million liters of fresh water into the sea every hour!
Maheno Shipwreck - The penultimate stop of the day is a short drive from Eli Creek and Pippies’ Fraser Island Tours camp; the Maheno shipwreck. As the sun sets, admire the rusty wreck against the sea sky and the stunning colored sands along the coast.
Finally, make a brief stop at The Pinnacles on the return to Pippies camp. Viewed from the beach, this sand formation is a perfect example of the colored sands seen throughout the Fraser Coast.
Hammerstone Sandblow, Lake Wabby
Lake Wabby - Awaken for your final day in paradise! Enjoy a quick and easy breakfast before heading to the last destination on the Fraser Island Tours.
Please note that itineraries may change due to factors such as tides, weather, and conditions set by Queensland National Parks.
Drive a moderate distance down the Eastern Beach to the entrance of Lake Wabby. Here, embark on a 40-45 minute walk along a scenic sand track through the bush and onto the Hammerstone Sandblow. A short walk along the sand blow leads to Lake Wabby, the deepest lake on Fraser Island. Be sure to take a dip and relax on its shores.
After lunch on the beach, it’s time to return to the barge and Rainbow Beach. But not before searching for the elusive Eugarie and discovering the meaning of our name: Pippies!
Arrive back at Pippies Beachhouse in Rainbow Beach between 1 pm and 4:30 pm (depending on the tides). Enjoy one last night with your new Fraser Family!
