• Cabo Santa Maria - The journey continues to the shipwreck at Cabo Santa Maria, where the remains of a Spanish cargo ship have rested for over 50 years. This site offers a striking contrast to the beach’s natural beauty, providing excellent photo opportunities.
• Bofarreira - The next stop is the vibrant village of Bofarreira, where visitors will visit a goat farm to observe local cheese production and enjoy a tasting.
• Fundo das Figueiras - The tour proceeds to Fundo das Figueiras village for a lunch featuring locally sourced ingredients at a family-owned restaurant. In the afternoon, there is free time before visiting a soap-making project run by the Association of Northern Women, an organization focused on equality. The day concludes at the Local Biodiversity Centre, offering insights into the island’s fascinating marine life.

Despite efforts from nearby islands to dislodge the vessel with powerful tugboats, it remained firmly entrenched. It ultimately required almost a year to offload the cargo, which was then transported to Sal Rei by mules.’
