Quan Ba Heaven Gate - Between 8:00 and 8:30 am, the operator will pick you up to begin the tour.
On the first day, prepare to be amazed by a series of delightful surprises. The team will guide you to the Bac Sum Pass, where you can marvel at the winding road resembling a giant python slithering at the base of the “Twin Mountains.” From a distance, the Bac Sum slope appears like a delicate silk ribbon, weaving through the misty mountain peaks and rugged rocky landscapes.
After crossing the Bac Sum Pass, the first stop is Quan Ba Heaven Gate, situated at an elevation of 1500 meters above sea level. Here, you can enjoy the fresh air and take in the breathtaking and majestic beauty of the mountains, forests, rice fields, and flower valleys in season. Following this, you will be driven to Quan Ba Twin Mountains to hear its fascinating story.
Yen Minh - During the journey, you will encounter the Dong Van Karst Plateau. This area, known as the “gray paradise” of Ha Giang, features gray mountains interspersed with cat-ear rocks. Locals often cultivate corn and other crops on the cliffs that slope through the rocky mountainsides. Along some roads, you may see small houses perched precariously on mountainsides or cliffs.
As you travel to the next destinations, you will pass through Nam Dam and Lung Tam villages, home to the Dao and Hmong ethnic minorities. Visitors can experience the rich cultural identity through the people and landscapes. You will observe locals drying corn, their staple food, or working in the fields. Children play together and assist their parents in the fields, all while wearing traditional costumes. You will spend the night in Yen Minh town.
Yen Minh - Tham Ma Road - Pao House - Lung Cu Flag Pole - Hmong King Palace - Dong Van
Lung Cu Flag Tower - After breakfast, the excursion continues with a one-hour drive to Tham Ma Road, featuring a 9-step road where you can capture stunning photos. The journey proceeds to Pao House, a historic site where you can learn about the area’s history and stories. The next significant stop is the Lung Cu Flag Pole, offering views of the border between Vietnam and China. The vistas from the flag pole or observation point are expansive and impressive. Then, visit Lo Lo Chai village, home to the Lo Lo ethnic minority, and see their traditional clay houses. Lunch will be at a local restaurant.
Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark - The ride continues to Dong Van town, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the old quarter and learn about the town’s traditions and history.
In the afternoon, around 2 pm, as the weather clears, the ride proceeds to Ma Pi Leng Pass, offering a chance to see the deepest valley and the most stunning views in Vietnam. Between the cliffs, the unique Nho Que River can be seen. A stop at a panoramic viewpoint allows for a coffee break and a chance to enjoy the scenery. In the late afternoon, the journey continues to Meo Vac for an overnight stay at a complex featuring Hmong house architecture, with dinner at a homestay.
Dong Van Town - Ma Pi Leng Pass - Nho Que River Overview - Meo Vac - M Road - Mau Due Valley - Du Gia Village
Ma Pi Leng Pass - After a delicious breakfast, the journey departs from Dong Van Town. The motorbike ride takes you to the most beautiful part of the trip, located on the Happiness Road connecting Dong Van and Meo Vac towns. Ma Pi Leng Pass is renowned for its rugged cliffs and breathtaking views, often called the “king” of Vietnam’s passes. The road winds through cliffs and ascends Ma Pi Leng Pass at an altitude of 2,000 meters.
To showcase the pass’s full beauty, the ride descends the stunning Sky Path to admire the entire valley and Nho Que River. From the incredible mountain viewpoint, you can experience a 360° view, then ride to see the panorama of Ma Pi Leng Pass and capture unforgettable photos. Standing at the pass’s peak, you will be awed by the majestic mountains and rivers.
Du Gia - The journey continues to more remote villages, revealing how people live in Vietnam’s distant regions. The route passes through Lung Ho, Mau Due, and Meo Vac villages, with a stop for lunch and refreshments. From Meo Vac Town, the journey continues through the mountainous trail area of Ha Giang province to Du Gia Village, known for its stunning landscape and diverse ethnic community, with seven ethnic minorities living together.
