Quan Ba Heaven Gate - Upon departing the city, the first notable attraction on the Ha Giang loop is Quan Ba Pass. Ascending to the top of the pass leads to a quaint café, an ideal spot for a drink and restroom break. However, the primary reason to pause here is the breathtaking view of the Ha Giang mountains, offering a glimpse of the beauty to come in the following days. Descending the mountain pass to Quan Ba town, there’s a midway parking area that’s easy to overlook. From here, you can climb stairs to a viewpoint offering a picturesque view of the Twin Mountains, also known as the Fairy Breast mountains.
Yen Minh - The journey from Yen Minh to Sa Phin takes you over the Tham Ma Pass, one of the remarkable mountain passes in the UNESCO Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark. A winding road leads to a small parking area where you can capture photos of this stunning pass.
Dinh Vua Meo - The Hmong King’s Palace in Sa Phin is constructed in a Chinese architectural style, primarily using wood, stone, and terracotta tiles. It is one of the region’s oldest structures, built to protect the Vuong family from attacks. This family amassed wealth through trade, particularly in opium.
Dong Van - Dong Van is a key town in Ha Giang, where many travelers opt to spend a night during their Ha Giang loop. The historical section, Dong Van Old Quarter, boasts architecture preserved for centuries. At night, it offers a charming atmosphere to enjoy. Behind the Old Quarter, an old French Fort atop a mountain provides views over the city and surrounding mountains.
Dong Van - Du Gia (Meals: B L D)
Ha Giang Journey - The Ma Pi Leng Pass is arguably the most spectacular stretch of road on the Ha Giang loop, situated between Dong Van and Meo Vac. This dramatic road is carved directly into the mountain’s side, featuring steep cliffs hundreds of meters high. You can park your motorbike at the top and walk along the ridge for stunning photo opportunities.
Nho Que River - The Nho Que River is part of the breathtaking scenery from the Ma Pi Leng Pass. There are also hidden roads leading down to the river, where you can embark on a one-hour boat trip between the towering cliffs of the pass.
Meo Vac - If visiting Meo Vac on a Sunday, you’re in for a treat. The Meo Vac market is the largest minority market in Ha Giang and one of Vietnam’s most impressive markets. It begins early in the morning and quiets down around 11:00 AM. There’s a livestock section where people bring animals not only to sell but also to showcase. The streets are lined with stalls selling everything from local products to cell phones. The indoor market serves as a large food market, offering fresh produce and small stalls where food is prepared over an open fire.
Du Gia - Ha Giang (Meals: B L)
Lung Ho - Lung Ho Ha Giang is a captivating destination for tourists, especially young adventurers eager to explore. This commune in Yen Minh district spans about 54 km2 and is divided into 23 villages.
Quan Ba - Lung Tam is renowned as a traditional craft village for brocade weaving by the Hmong on the Dong Van plateau, Ha Giang province. In addition to brocade products popular with both domestic and international visitors, the unique weaving process in Lung Tam village is a draw for visitors in Quan Ba district.
