- Plaza de la Independencia (Plaza Grande) - Following a visit to the Basilica, the tour proceeds to the Historic Center, where the car is parked, and a walk to Plaza de la Independencia (Plaza Grande) begins. Before reaching the Plaza, there’s an opportunity to stop at a favorite vintage coffee roaster for some Ecuadorian ground coffee. Visitors can explore the plaza and its surroundings, which include the Cathedral, Archbishop’s Palace, Chocolate Museum, Presidential Palace, Metropolitan Museum, and more. A visit to Independence Plaza offers a glimpse into the past of Quito, making it feel like stepping into a time machine.
- Teatro Bolivar - After exploring Plaza Grande and the iconic sites of Old Town Quito, the tour continues down a pedestrian-only street, showcasing beautiful colonial architecture. Upon arrival at the renowned Teatro Bolivar, which was rebuilt after a fire in 1999, visitors can enjoy a premium cup of Ecuadorian coffee at a favorite coffee shop, perfect for coffee enthusiasts.
- Fundacion Iglesia de la Compania - After enjoying coffee or chocolate, the tour heads to the majestic La Compañia Church. Known as the Church of the Society of Jesus (Spanish: La Iglesia de la Compañía de Jesús), it is a Jesuit church renowned for its large central nave, adorned with gold leaf, gilded plaster, and wood carvings. Inspired by two Roman Jesuit churches, La Compañía is a significant example of Spanish Baroque architecture in South America. It is considered Quito’s most ornate church and possibly the country’s most beautiful. A 30-minute guided tour of the church is included, promising to amaze.
- Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco - After visiting La Compañia, the tour proceeds to the San Francisco Church Plaza. Here, visitors can take photos, visit the church and other seasonal attractions at the convent, and enjoy the view of the Virgen Monument atop Panecillo hill.
