A great opportunity to learn about traditional Ecuadorian cuisine! - Our cooking class was everything we had hoped for, and more! Andre took us through the market where we saw the many vendors of fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. We sampled some delicious examples of Ecuadorian fruits. Exotic to us ... and delicious. We then moved to the cooking class, where Silvia and Chef Magola explained to us the cooking traditions of Ecuador and guided us through the preparation of a delicious lunch. Simple, fresh ingredients and simple ( and surprisingly quick) cooking methods combined to create a wonderful and very healthy meal! We left with delicious memories and recipes to try at home. Thank you, Andres, Silvia and Chef Magola for creating such an exceptional experience for us!

A really great experience! - We were picked up at our hotel, which we really appreciated, and were taken to the central market, where our guide (who spoke excellent English) showed us around and bought us delicious smoothies made from local fruits, prior to taking us to the cooking class. The class was in a charming part of the historic center, tucked into a very nice setting with a lovely courtyard. The ladies who taught it were very friendly, gracious, delightful to be with, and excellent cooks. The food we made was delicious! It was a lovely way to spend a half of a day!

Excellent experience with... - Excellent experience with Andres, his wife, Silvia and their friend. They are very friendly and warm people and make the whole experience very personal. The market tour with Andres was most interesting, learning about their fruits, vegetables, legumes, herbs, poultry etc. The cooking experience was with 2 ladies in a lovely old house in the old town. While the experience is not that hands on (the ladies did the cooking, while we chopped a few things and observe), it was still very nice and cosy. The ladies chatted like friends throughout and we did learn a lot!

Great cooking class. - This cooking class was phenomenal. My best friend and I learned alot. We also had alot of fun. The potato soup and ceviche was sooooo good. An awakening of the taste buds. One of the highlights was going to the market, where we learned about different fruits.

You can't leave Quito without experiencing this market tour and cooking class! - From start to finish, we had such a a fantastic time. The tour of the Central Market was fascinating and we got to sample some absolutely delicious Ecuadorian fruits and juices. And then the cooking class experience was just the best. We were welcomed with such warmth and we felt right at home. I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Quito. My wife and I have done cooking classes in Thailand, South Africa, and now in Ecuador, and this cooking class was definitely our favorite!

Lovely private cooking class with very tasty food! - My husband and I were looking for a small cooking class and if you are interested in the same I would highly recommend this one if you are in Quito! It ended up being just us two which was great. Apparently they like to keep the groups small as well. Andres picked us up from our hotel in the morning. There are multiple times to choose from which was nice if you want an early start or a bit later. He toured us around the market, we sampled fruits and juice and herbs. Then we went to a small kitchen in the old downtown area and cooked with his wife and her friend. It’s situated next to a peaceful, quiet little courtyard with a water fountain. I’m not sure if the dishes vary depending on the day but we made a hot fruit drink, ceviche, potato soup, snacks and fried plantains. All of the food was so tasty and could be seasoned more or less to our liking. The best part was being able to ask questions and make conversation. And of course the final lunch at the end! Certainly take a few hours of your time to try this and take home some easy to replicate recipes!

Excellent but! - The cooking class was great. Two very warm and friendly chefs teach the class. We are so much food we had to skip dinner. The recipes were easily followed and we will recreate them at home. We all felt like we got the "bums rush" during the market tour. We were picked up late at our hotel and the the tour leader Andres was rushing to another tour. If not for that It would be a five star review but we felt short changed on the market tour
