- TeleferiQo Teleferico Quito - A wonderful way to begin exploring Quito City is by visiting the Teleferico, offering the best panoramic view of the capital. The Private and Personalized Quito Day Tour commences from your hotel at 9:00 AM. A private vehicle and a bilingual national guide will pick you up and take you to the cable car located in the north-western part of Quito. The journey takes about twenty minutes. Upon arrival, you’ll take the cable car up to 4,050 meters (13,200 feet), where hiking trails, the swing of the clouds, and the flora and fauna of the Andes Mountains await as part of this exciting adventure.
- Basilica del Voto Nacional - This is the finest example of neo-Gothic architecture in Quito. The guide will provide an explanation of the building’s exterior, and you’ll have the opportunity to ascend the towers. From there, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of Quito’s Old Town and other notable landmarks of the city.
- Quito Old Town - A well-preserved historic center in South America. The Independence Square, monuments, Catholic buildings showcasing various art styles, paintings, sculptures, museums, and colonial houses are all part of this heritage. A walking tour with our specialized guide offers the best chance to gain a deeper understanding of the city’s and country’s history. We will recommend some excellent lunch options at different restaurants featuring local cuisine.
- Intinan Museum - The primary aim of the Intiñan Museum is to preserve the ancestral worldview and ethnological habitat of Mitad del Mundo. Fascinating experiments will help you understand the effects at the equator line. NOTE: Please bring your passport if you wish to receive a special stamp of the Equator line.

A Unique and Personal Tour of Quito - We were looking for a tour that we could customize, and this one worked out perfectly. Our tour guide, Pato, listened to what we wanted, shared some of his ideas, and we came up with exactly the tour for the day that was perfect for us. In addition to visiting the old downtown, the gondola which included a light meal and swinging in the clouds at 13,000 feet, touring the Basilica and then the most spectacular bird sanctuary that we had ever seen, several personal favourites of his own were added. One unique thing was touring a local fruit and vegetable market, where our guide brought his own knife and cut open some of the unique fruit that we would never see in Canada. We were able to taste several delicious fruits that were from Ecuador farms. He also recommended a restaurant called La Vid which was absolutely outstanding, in the Market Square. We were thoroughly impressed overall and would highly recommend this tour to others and Pato as a guide in particular.

We had an amazing day... - We had an amazing day exploring Quito with our guide, Pato! Our itinerary included the TelefériQo, the Basilica del Voto Nacional, Quito’s Old Town, and the Intiñan Equator Museum. Pato was fantastic from start to finish—super friendly, fun to be around, and incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of the area.
He shared so many interesting stories and details that we never would have learned on our own, and he made every stop engaging and memorable. From the stunning views at the TelefériQo to walking through the historic streets of Old Town and visiting the Equator, everything was perfectly paced and enjoyable.
If you’re visiting Quito, I highly recommend touring with Pato. He truly made the experience special and unforgettable!

A Fantastic Private Tour of Quito with an Exceptional Guide, Patricio (Pato) - Our private and personalized tour of Quito with Patricio (Pato) was truly an exceptional experience. From the very beginning, Pato demonstrated incredible knowledge about the history, culture, and traditions of the city. His explanations were detailed, engaging, and easy to understand, which made every stop even more meaningful.
Visiting TelefériQo was breathtaking, and Pato made sure we had enough time to enjoy the views while also sharing interesting facts about the surrounding volcanoes and geography. Our visit to Middle of the World Monument was equally fascinating, as he explained the science and history behind the equator in such an entertaining way.
Pato was professional, friendly, and very attentive throughout the entire day. He made the tour feel relaxed and personalized, always making sure we were comfortable and enjoying every moment. His passion for Quito and for guiding visitors truly shows.
Highly recommended!

The best of Quito - We had a delightful day with Galindo. We visited the Center of the World, went on a cable car ride up the mountain, toured the Quito Basilica, and walked through old town and some beautiful churches. Galindo booked a delicious lunch with Ecadorian favorites looking out on the town square with the large statue of the Blessed Mother watching from atop the hill. Our tour ended with a chocolate shop visit. The day couldn’t have been better.

5/5 Stars – A Perfect Day in Quito with Ecuador A Color Travel CO - My wife and I, always chasing adventure, booked a private full-day tour with Ecuador A Color Travel CO, and honestly, it was one of the best travel decisions we’ve ever made. Our guide, Pato, was pure gold: warm, funny, endlessly knowledgeable, and somehow made every moment feel personal, like we were exploring with a friend who just happens to know everything about Ecuador.
We kicked off at a bustling local market where Pato introduced us to a fruit vendor. He didn’t just point; he handed us slices, explained how locals use them, and made jokes about how one fruit looked like Bart Simpson’s Head. Total win.
Then came the Teleférico cable car ride up Pichincha—stunning 360-degree views of Quito sprawled below, volcanoes in the distance. We hiked a short trail at the top, breathing that thin, crisp air. Pato kept us moving at our pace, pointing out local trees and identifying bird calls. Magic.
Next stop: the Mitad del Mundo museum right on the equator. We did the classic “stand on the line, balance an egg” trick. No cheesy tourist traps, just real stories.
Old Town wrapped us up: cobblestone streets, gold-leaf churches, and a tiny chocolate boutique where we sampled chocolates made from premium cacao grown in Ecuador. Pato knew the owner, so we got the insider scoop on how the company was built with fair trade principles as a foundation. I’m still dreaming about that last bite.
Every step, he wove in Ecuador’s culture, history, flora, fauna. Never felt rushed, never bored. Just two adventurers with the perfect guide.
If you want Quito done right—authentic, fun, and unforgettable—book with Ecuador A Color Travel CO and ask for Pato. We’re already planning our next trip.

Amazing tour highly recommend - We only had one full day in Quito and we are so glad we took this private full day tour with Pato. He customized our tour to our interests and we had a great time. One of the best day tours I have taken. We started off in a market tasting exotic fruit, tried several local dishes throughout the day, saw a lot of the main sights around the city, went up to the cable car, and the equator line. Would highly recommend.
