“CHOCO FOREST” - DAY 1
Zuroloma Birding - Departure is scheduled for 5 pm to explore the “Zuroloma Bird Reserve” where visitors can observe a variety of hummingbirds including the sword-billed, sparkling, Tyrian metaltail, black-tailed trainbearer, sapphire-vented puffleg, mountain velvetbreast, and green-tailed trainbearer. “CHOCO FOREST” - DAY 1
Zuroloma Birding - Departure is scheduled for 5 pm to explore the “Zuroloma Bird Reserve” where visitors can observe a variety of hummingbirds including the sword-billed, sparkling, Tyrian metaltail, black-tailed trainbearer, sapphire-vented puffleg, mountain velvetbreast, and green-tailed trainbearer. Additionally, there are hooded mountain and blue-capped tanagers, barred fruiteaters, rufous chestnut-naped and undulated antpittas, ocellated tapaculos, yellow-breasted brush finches, white-throated screech owls, Andean pygmy owls, and more.
Tandayapa - Following this, the group will search for birds along the Nono-Tandayapa road and visit the “Alambi Bird Reserve” to see species such as the green-crowned brilliant, Andean emerald, western emerald, brown violetear, purple-throated woodstar, booted racket-tail, and white-necked Jacobin hummingbirds. Other birds include blue-gray, palm, thick-billed Euphonia, orange-bellied Euphonia, lemon-rumped tanagers, and the red-headed barbet.
After lunch, the tour will proceed to “La Victoriana Farm” to observe the “Andean Cock-of-the-rock,” a symbolic bird of the cloud forest.
Tulipe - The day concludes with a stay at the “Mirador de Tulipe – Lodge.”
“CHOCO FOREST” - DAY 2
Mashpi Amagusa Reserve - At 5 am, the group will visit the “Amagusa Bird Reserve” to view birds such as the sickle-winged guan, crimson-rumped toucanet, orange-breasted fruiteater, black-chinned mountain tanager, moss-backed tanager, golden, glistening green, lemon-rumped, rufous-throated, and beryl-spangled tanagers, as well as the golden-collared honeycreeper, Andean solitary, and black solitary.
“CHOCO FOREST” - DAY 3
Milpe Bird Sanctuary - The day will involve birdwatching along the roads around the Mindo and Milpe areas, seeking out species like the Chocó toucan, yellow-throated toucan, pale-mandibled aracari, laughing falcon, hook-billed kite, rufous motmot, masked water tyrant, bronze-winged parrot, bat falcon, cattle egret, and swallow-tailed kite.
