Christian is the best guide in Quito! - We went to the Cloud forest with our bilingual guide, Christian. His English is excellent and he taught us some Spanish on our two hour drive to the Mindo Cloud Forest. Once we arrived, we hiked down to a very nice waterfall. We did the easy one as we had three other cool things on our itinerary. Round trip hike was just under an hour with the decent (approx 300 m with good swithmchbacks), enjoying the waterfall for 15 minutes, and the return hike up. Excellent cardio on the way back up (I'm 60 and in ok shape, not great). Following a great hike, we went Mindo Zip-lining and did the 10 lines for $20 per person. An excellent price for ten outstanding and fast ziplines. The only bad part is that the person taking the money (cash only here) did not have change for $100 bill, so we had $65 in small bills (10s and 5s), that was meant for tipping, but had to use 60 to pay for the Zip-lining. Therefore, even though we wanted to tip our guides better, we were only able to give them a total of $5 and they definitely deserved $10 each, in my opinion. Bottom line: don't bring $100 or even $50 bills, bring 5s and 10s.
The next thing we did was go to Serenity restaurant in downtown Mindo. The host was amazing and the chef came out to greet us. Pricing was great and they take credit cards. I had a mixed Ceviche with shrimp, octopus, and two other fishes and it was plentiful and about 1/2 what you'd pay in the US for the same dish. We then went to the chocolate tour at QUINDES Chocolate and it was fabulous. It was about an hour and included a bilingual guide and we went thru the entire process from cutting open the cacao pod and getting the seeds to roasting them and finally the tasting. We also did a chocolate facial (no sugar added) and those were some fun photos! The last thing we did on our tour was the hummingbird sanctuary. Christian will take you to the best one. I cannot recommend this tour enough if you are coming to Quinton.

Great day trip to Mindo - Our guide, Cristian, was excellent. He shared a lot of interesting information about Ecuador throughout the trip and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves as much as possible. Holding hummingbirds in our hands was a highlight for us.

The guide was very good... - The guide was very good at giving us info about Ecuador as a whole over a huge variety of topics.

The perfect day trip from Quito - A trip to Mundo is a must and you will be so happy that you went with Christian!
He is fun and engaging, professional and so knowledgeable. It is clear that he loves what he does and he does it better than anyone. The ride was comfortable, the many landscapes we crossed were fascinating and Christian made the trip feel like time with a dear friend.
Mundo is a delightful town in the cloud forest. The hike, the lunch and the chocolate experience were all memorable, but the defining moment was saved for last.
Feeding hummingbirds from the palm of your hand is mind blowing! At one point, there were FIVE sitting in my wife's hand waiting their turn to drink out of the cap of nectar in her palm!
Do not pass up this amazing adventure!!

Wonderful Mindo Memories - Wonderful experience and great trip! If you’re looking for a bird expert, ask for Christian! He knows his birds and really went out of his way to make our day a special one. He even shared the bird check list we created together.
We also enjoyed a nice time making and drinking our own coffee, along with a scrumptious lunch.
I highly recommend this trip if you’re looking to see a great number of hummingbirds and local birds in Mindo.
Christian is also an excellent driver that puts your safety first !

Excellent service and tons of birds! - I went on this trip solo with Christian. He was prompt, kind, and knowledgeable. He came prepared with an itinerary, but upon learning that seeing birds was a priority, he made some changes to the itinerary to make the most of the time. I thoroughly enjoyed this trip, and recommend it to others.

A great nature day trip with lots of choices for what you want to do. - This was the perfect tour with a lot of choices for what you want to do. We did the hummingbird sanctuary in the morning which was so cool. The. Some of our group did zip lining while the other half did the waterfall hike. We then had a great lunch followed by the chocolate tour. The only thing is that I wish the chocolate tour had more regular chocolate with different cocoa levels instead of just flavored chocolate.
Daniel was a wonderful guide and Manuel was a great driver.
I would definitely recommend the tour to others. You could potentially spend the night in Mindo since there is so much to do in that area and it is 2 hours from Quito.

Great experience with Daniel - We took the private tour to Mindo and it was great. Daniel is a very good tour guide. Knows a lot about birds, plants, geography, all! The trip to see birds, butterflies and also the adventure through the forest was fantastic. He explained everything in detail and had very good recommendations. Nice driving and good lunch. Very recommended!

Wonderful Rainforest expedition - Mindo rain forest was great, our tour guide was good and know lag able about the birds.
I would had like him to talk a bit more about the beautiful flora as well.
