Impressive nature - I was first a bit sceptic about the whaleshark tour, but I found that the organisations leaving from Holbox all organise this with a lot of respect for nature and the animals. You dive 2 by 2, keep distant from the animals, and with not too many boats around the whale sharks. And yes, it is incredibly beautiful to swim next to such an animal. Breathtaking.

Form of sighting and swimming whale shark - The way to proceed to find the shark/whale sharks is to make a sweep with all the boats, once seen by any of them the ones that are nearby approach. The whale shark is not fed, there are 2 people + guide to alter the shark as little as possible. Other boats threw more than 2 people, which is not recommended for the shark. Crisni's guide is watching out for us not to be on top of the shark and disturb it. It is not that I am an expert and I do not know if it is entirely correct what they do, but the shark is respected much more than elsewhere, so I was able to inform myself briefly.

Great day to meet the whale shark! (but not just!) - Great day to meet the whale shark! (but not just!) Christopher (Guide) and Haciel (Captain) were great! They really took the time so that we could all enjoy the whale shark we met. You literally end up "fin side by side" with the shark! We cross his gaze! Sensations guaranteed! The half day continues with more surprises!!! Tip Top!!!

Amazing hosts and experience! - Amazing experience especially because of our amazing and knowledgeable guide Krisna and our captain of the Dona Beny. They were friendly, informative and encouraging. The 3 of us would tour with the two of them again for sure. The tour was great and the interaction with the whale sharks was incredible! Highly recommend.

Incredible experience with whale sharks - Incredible day with our guide and captain - they were patient and encouraging and made sure we had a great time! We were so lucky that our guide Crisna was such an amazing swimmer and she made our day by helping with filming. The beach stop was also a nice break and the ceviche was incredibly fresh and tasty. Can’t wait to come back to Holbox next year.

Outing whale sharks in Holbox - What an amazing day!! The whale sharks were there as soon as we arrived, a chance! Both launches were super well supervised thanks to Sandra and Luis. The snorkel stop also gave its share of satisfaction with among others nurse sharks and pastenague rays. The break and meal in Cabo Catoche were friendly, time for swimming and lazing. Finally, the dolphins honored us by swimming around the boat for long minutes. We even saw a small manta ray. Excellent organization for this outing... a big thank you to Sandra, Luis and our boat captain!! Professionalism, sympathy, kindness and excellent exchanges throughout the day. Outing booked with Secretoo agency.

Excellent experience! - The service was excellent from the guides and the captain gave us a lot of important information as well as kindly answered any questions. We had the opportunity to go down twice to see the whale always looking for safety. Something excellent adapted the route so we could get to know the island better. We highly recommend it and will return to them permanently.

100% must do - Amazing experience and amazing guide and captain. We got picked up at 645 and went out searching for whale sharks. It is about a two hour ride to the area, we found them around noon and were able to swim with huge manta rays and saw giant sea turtles while searching. If you get motion or car sickness I recommend taking dramamine or gravol around 630am. And either have breakfast before going or bring some snacks. Waterproof bag for belongings highly recommended. Super worth the trip. The whale sharks are amazing!!! We also stopped on an island for awesome guacamole and drinks you can buy at a palapa bar. Our captain was Odin and our guide was Chris. Very dedicated and knowledgeable people in ensuring we had the best experience. Chris takes awesome videos and him and Odin are both really fun! Thank you both for an unforgettable day!

Incredible day with whale sharks and giant manta rays - It was a spectacular day. They picked us up a little later than the agreed time but other than that everything was perfect. We sailed for about 2 hours until we found the whale shark and we were lucky enough to also find a pair of manta rays that were equally or even more spectacular. Then we went to Cabo Catoche to eat a delicious ceviche. 100% recommendable!

Do you seriously want to see whalesharks this badly? Then yes, it's worth it. - So i'll preface by saying we did not see whalesharks - I can't say if that would change my overall feelings regarding this excursion or not! But I can say that I have done A LOT of "trekking to see this animal"-style tours and this was hands-down the most onerous of them (even ones where you are walking!). The speedboats are speedy and move through choppy water - this results in lots of drops (hence why there's a specific warning for people with spinal injuries!) and even if it's super fun for the first 2 hours - it's not fun for the last 4! And, even if you are good with the bucking bronco boat (whee!) there are then long periods where you are just slowly bobbing in the ocean circling while your guide and driver are checking the GPS / Apps to find spottings, etc. "Sandwiches" provided were (as expected) white bread and ham, we'd paid extra for guacamole and chips (as I'm a vegetarian), but that wasn't available until the lunch break (after 6 hours). Let's just say that being hangry, nauseous, in pain, and so so hot, not great. We did see manta rays and sea turtles, also flying fish! But looking at them was a choice, and in the end - not the best of them (for the nausea!). I can say that our driver and guide did everything they could to try to locate a shark for snorkeling - but it's a big ocean and that's how it goes sometimes! We'd originally booked in for a second tour - but you can absolutely book in last minute and i would do so in the future!
