Scuba diving in Cozumel is organized as two-tank dive trips, with daily morning departures. Each trip lasts 4-5 hours on our boats. The journey to the reef typically takes 30 to 45 minutes. The first dive is usually conducted in the southern part of the island, in the Palancar reef area or one of the renowned coral walls. This dive is famous for its incredible coral tunnels, which are unique worldwide. The average depth ranges from 60 to 80 feet (18 to 24 meters). A multilevel dive is performed to maximize air usage. Afterward, there is a 1-hour surface interval during which a small lunch is provided. The second dive takes place in a shallower reef, lasting about 1 hour. Here, the coral is more vibrant, and there is an opportunity to observe a variety of marine life, including sea turtles, nurse sharks, moray eels, stingrays, the endemic splendid toadfish, and other tropical fish.
