Our tour with Carlos to the Dzibanche ruins. - Carlos made our visit to the Dzibanché ruins unforgettable. His warmth and friendliness set the tone right away, and his deep knowledge of Maya history, language, architecture, wildlife, and everyday life brought the site to life in a way that felt both engaging and effortless. He has that rare gift of turning a history lesson into a great story you actually want to hear. What made the day even better was how easy he was to talk to. We ended up chatting about local Mexican culture, family traditions, food, and all kinds of everyday topics. He listened to what we enjoyed and gave us recommendations that actually matched our interests—not the generic tourist stuff. Even the long drive flew by because the conversation was fun, relaxed, and full of interesting insights. By the end, it felt like we’d spent the day exploring with a friend who just happens to know everything about the region. We’ll absolutely reach out to Carlos again the next time we’re in the area. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a tour that’s informative, personal, and genuinely enjoyable.

Great tour - It was a great tour. Our tour guide Octavio did a great job and was very knowledgeable regarding the history of the town and the ruins. It was quite a history lesson. We got back in plenty of time for the ship and the refreshments were an added bonus. You do need to walk quite a distance through the entire port off the main property before meeting your guide.

Great, informative experience! - Our guide was Ishmael. This was a very interesting and informative tour. Ishmael’s knowledge at the ruins was great. The experience of driving through his village was eye-opening. This is a company that employs folks local to the area who are trying to better their lives. Highly recommend

Temple Run - It started with a bit-ambiguous set of directions regarding the meeting place. After inquiring with several people, we were able to locate our group's meeting place. Provided transportation was adequate/typical for such tours/trips. It was not falling apart while driving, thus, it is a positive. Overall, we did like the Mayan ruins place itself. However, the main issue both of us had with this guided tour was the pace. It is an hour drive in one direction. We spent barely 40 minutes on the grounds. There was not enough time to read information boards, and barely any time to take a few decent pictures. Run, run, run. It was a true temple run. We were back at the port around 12 pm with 5 more spare hours. Ship boarding time was 5:15 pm. Thus, if you are on a time crunch, this tour is for you. Otherwise, you will be better off hiring a taxi and going at your own pace.
