The guide, Alondra, was... - The guide, Alondra, was really good—vey sweet and knowledgeable. Cooking and eating our own tortillas was the best part.

Go Hungry - The guides are very knowledgeable and proud of their heritage. The Mayan ruins are impressive and the cuisine was delicious. Highly recommend this tour for any family that wants, history, good food and something other than another beach.

Thumbs Up for Native Choice Tours & Edder - We had a fantastic day with Edder and leaves so much about the Mayan culture. After a slightly delayed start due to a large group that didn't want to split up on two buses, we drive to Chacchoben and had an amazing tour. We then visited the village for a tasty Mayan lunch. Everything about the tour was top notch. We highly recommend Native Choice Tours That being said, I will never book with Viator again. We added two friends to our booking and paid in advance. When we arrived they were not on the list and the tour was full. Viator customer service did nothing to help us. Thankfully, the tour operator has two no shows and they were able to join and had to pay AGAIN. Eight thumbs down for Viator.

Good from start to finish - Our tour guide Elliott was excellent. He explained the history and Mayan culture. Then we had lunch with a local family and his wife. 5 star tour all the way. Would do it again and highly recommend.

Great excursion - Excursion for the whole family. A little bit of a walk from cruise ship to meeting point (about 15 min or so) but multiple groups of people heading that way and friendly shop owners and security that will direct you. We had beautiful weather and large, nice, cool bus. Bus drive not too long, easy drive. At the ruins you can climb up if you want, get some free time to explore and plenty of restroom breaks. Was prepared for mosquitos/bugs but none around! Our guide was very knowledgeable and nice. The food was good and a fun experience! This was a nice break from all the water activities on the rest of our cruise. Would recommend.

Well organized with good guides and cool experiences - We received good instructions on how to find the kiosk to check in for the tour. Alan was a good tour guide, providing a lot of interesting information about the area and Mayan culture as we were transported between locations. Diego was the on-site guide for the ruins and was also excellent. Since the tour started early and was with a small group, we got to tour the ruins ahead of the crowds. The Mayan village experience was also good - learning to make corn tortillas and having a nice lunch. The van driver, Anastacio (sp?), got us around quickly and with plenty of time to make it back to our cruise ship; he also provided us with plenty of cold water bottles (no need to bring your own). Highly recommend over any tour offered by the cruise line.

Fantastic tour for families! - This was an incredible tour, exceeding our expectations. One thing we loved was the 60 min timeframe to leave. We were a bit worried by this, but the walk to the pickup spot was easy once we extracted ourselves from the mayhem of the touristy port area. Leaving quickly allowed us to get to the ruins earlier than most, so we had lovely weather, and photos without a whole bunch of other people. Our guide was super knowledgeable and friendly. THEN we went to the Mayan village and although it was a bit commercialized, it was still authentic-enough to get the experience. The tortillas we made were tasty, and everything for lunch was great too. Only minor complaint is my own taste buds expecting spicy and not getting it. Turned out to be great for the kiddos in that regard. All in all, highly recommend this one!

Taste of Mayan Culture - My family enjoyed our Mayan Experience tour with Eddar. The meeting spot was easy to find. It was my son’s favorite day of the cruise. We had a small group of 14. Our group got to Chacchoben ahead of the cruise excursions so we had some time there without the crowds. We all enjoyed the Mayan lunch too. It felt like we did get a nice taste of the culture. I would highly recommend this excursion experience.

Chacchoben Mayan Ruins - Due to issues on Cruise ship, we arrived late and only completed half the excursion. This was with Roberto our driver and Maggie and Joel (guides) who were both excellent with their presentation and information about the Mayan Ruins. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip and recommend it as an excursion.
