Starting from the Ziptrek Treehouse at the top of the Skyline Gondola, you’ll zip down the mountain, enjoying breathtaking views of Lake Wakatipu and the snow-capped Remarkables mountain range. With three different tours available, there’s something for everyone – whether you’re new to Queenstown’s adventure scene, eager to experience the world’s steepest tree-to-tree zipline, or ready to take on our latest tour, the Kereru, which includes a 21-meter drop!
- The maximum weight for any Ziptrek Ecotour is 125kg (275lbs). The Kea tour has a minimum weight of 30kg (66lbs).
- Gondola tickets are not included in price - we recommend a minimum of 60 minutes to access the upper Skyline complex from the base terminal, or at least 90 minutes in peak times
- Please bring an extra layer of clothing year round! Jackets, hats and gloves are recommended. Closed toe shoes are essential (no sandals, flip flops or heels)
- Prior to your arrival it is mandatory to complete a Participant Consent Form. The web link to this form will be within your voucher
- Youths under the age of 14 years MUST be accompanied by a paying adult (15 years and over) on tour. Those 17 years and under must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian who is 18 years or over.
- If you or anyone in your group has a medical condition or a recent injury please bring this to our attention. Pregnant woman are unable to go on tour.
- Not allowed for travelers over the weight limit of 125kg (275lbs)

Ziptrek Treehouse – Tour Check-In
The Ziptrek Treehouse is located at the top of Skyline gondola. Please turn left and walk approximately 300 feet (100 metres) from the Skyline top terminal building, just past the helipad.
Return point: Kereru and Moa tours returns to original departure point
Kea tour concludes at the gondola base

Fun - Lots of fun! Guides were very knowledgeable, entertaining and safety was the priority. The hike to the 6th zipline took about 20 minutes.

Great experience! - Wonderful experience! Lucy and Jaime were fantastic! Traveling from the USA and we were in a group with another family from New Zealand. It was a great time together!

First-timer zipliner at 60 - Great way to spend a few hours in Queenstown! Heaps of fun doing the ziplining! Our 2 guides Lillie and Kahu were super friendly and confidence inspiring. Would do it again! 😊

Zipline adventure in paradise - My brother, partner, and I were on a six-line zipline experience last Friday with Lucy and Adam. It was 1000% incredible. We did not know what to expect and yet were totally blown away by the blend of ecological education, excitement, physical activity, and fun. Lucy and Adam both are incredibly competent, so we felt safe the entire time. And thy both brought a deep passion for the mission of Ziptrek and the country of New Zealand. Such impressive ambassadors - really!
My partner and I are in our 50s and my brother is 71. I felt that they were thoughtful about our age without limiting the activities at all. That balance encourages you to push yourself - even zipping upside down(!) - while feeling confident about the safety provided by Lucy and Adam.
I would recommend this to everyone.

I combined this tour with... - I combined this tour with the luge, which I would suggest since they both require the gondola lift ticket. It was a great afternoon and my guides Lily and Sasha made it more fun! I never thought being upside down on a zip line would be so thrilling!

Sydney and Ben da BEST!!! - Guides Sydney and Ben were outstanding and made the trip a 5/5. Incredible experience zip lining through dense 80 year line forest with spectacular views. Hard to beat this experience!!!

Heaps of fun! - My husband, 19yo son and I did the six line Kea tour and loved it! Our guides, Adam and Sydney, were excellent. We loved the (optional) challenges and going upside down was a hoot! We also enjoyed the sustainability aspects of the tour, and learning some Queenstown history. Do this along with the Skyline gondola and luge for a fun filled day for all ages and experience levels.

Excellent Guides, Fun ride - Our guides Ayden and Lillie were excellent- just the right combo of fun, encouraging and safety conscious. The zip rides were easy and the 21 m drop was exhilarating.

Quiet experience at the heights - The Ziptrek Ecotours experience was beautiful, but if you are looking for adrenaline, it may not be the best option. We felt that it was more intended for families or those who prefer something quieter, as we would have liked a little more excitement or have more autonomy in the activity.
Beyond that, the organization was excellent and the staff very professional and attentive, which made everything flow very well.
In short, a good option if you want something relaxed and safe, but if you’re looking for a more extreme challenge, you might want to explore other alternatives.
