Grand Pac team Aussie - A fabulous day out with Lucy. This tour is very much under rated as it’s a fantastic experience. Way above our expectations. The scenery along the way is spectacular and the knowledge Lucy shared is immeasurable. A cuppa, wine, biscuits and even a bush loo all added to the trip. We had a fun day sharing lots of laughs. Even going past “dick “ rock which now has a new name !!

Very scenic! Lucy drove us through the mountains leading to Skipper’s Canyon with confidence! - An adventure on the narrow roads leading to Skipper’s Canyon. Lucy knows the roads and the area! She is personable and knowledgeable!

Thrilling! - The ride along the gravel track was thrilling! Don’t look down! Lucy, our driver and tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and humorous. The stop for morning tea was lovely. The views along the whole journey are spectacular. I’m so glad I braved it.

The tour would not be the same without Lucy Snelgrove - We had a great time today doing the Skippers Canyon drive. Our tour guide was a friendly, well informed, funny and a great team player. She made the trip so much more enjoyable. She went over and beyond to make us feel relaxed and enjoy the ride. We stopped at vantage points to take photos and even treated to a glass of wine and cheese and biscuits. Unfortunately the skippers bridge has been closed to visitors due to safety concerns. Don’t think it will open in the near future. But that did not spoil the experience. One tip - empty your bladders before the trip coz the toilet available is too basic. Adding its photos for you all to judge 😂😂😂😂

Fantastic, unmissable experience! - This is as fantastic trip for many reasons and our tour guide/ driver Lucy was the icing on the cake. Travelling on the canyon road which strings it's way precariously through the Canyon is thrilling. The hairpin bends, sudden drops and climbs combined with the exposure is enthralling. Next the history of the gold prospecting in its many forms and it's shaping of the landscape is awe inspiring. It is a truly beautiful, rugged canyon with the Shotover river deep in it's ravine below you. You have to admire and appreciate the feverish efforts of the gold seekers desperate to find gold and keep it! The beautiful rock formations" gorilla rock" is one example that create scenery that surprises around every corner. Finally our host"Lucy" tied the whole experience together. Her knowledge, skill in driving and humour alleviated anyone's anxieties. Brilliant , nothing less.

Skippers Canyon with Heritage Tours, with Lucy, Wolfgang et al - First class experience on our south island leg of our Feb 2026 holiday. This tour of Skippers Canyon is something my wife and I would highly recommended for all ages and levels of fitness. You will get to see some fantastic views, understand an interesting slice of NZ gold rush history and be both informed and entertained by knowledgeable guides in a fun and safe manner. My good lady wife is not the best traveller/passenger and she was bit nervous reference the winding and precipitous nature of some elements of the Skipper Canyon road but she came back to the hotel having thoroughly enjoyed the trip out. Our guide/driver Lucy was charming, highly skilled and experienced with the Toyota Hi Ace 4x4 tourbus which was as comfortable as it was capable and expertly driven all the while offering excellent views over the stunning gorge. Wolfgang, who I believe runs the show, was charm personified and even turned up with some light snacks and drinks which were served at Canyon tour end rest stop. There were also stops en-route for photographing which were seemingly available on demand with no fuss at all. First class experience highly recommended. Peter & Heather Feb 2026

Queenstown Skippers Canyon...Wow - Wow what a great half day experience...Lucy our driver was great fun and informative but the best thing was that she was an excellent driver...the narrow dirt roads were incredible, a bit hair raising but in Lucy's hands i felt 100% confident. The 4wd experience was incredible, the scenery superb and well worth the half day excursion. 100% recommend this amazing adventure...more fantastic memories made in an already holiday in the South Island.. A bonus was a selection of tea and or coffee or a glass of wine at the furthest point on the drive...plus nibbles...

Skippers Canyon Queenstown NZ - The Skippers Canyon tour was well worth the time and you are fortunate if you get Lucy as your tour guide. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and very considerate of our needs as seniors who travel using walking canes. Stunning vistas with several stops to take photos. Bumpy ride, but expected on gravel roads. If you have time, take the tour!
