- Queenstown - The tour begins in the breathtaking city of Queenstown. As the journey commences, the guide will not only set the stage for an exciting day but also highlight and navigate through some of the area’s top attractions.
- Kawarau Suspension Bridge - Leaving Queenstown, the route takes us through the picturesque Kawarau Gorge, showcasing stunning views, the Kawarau Suspension Bridge, and the renowned Roaring Meg Lookout. If time and lighting allow, there will be a stop for the first fantastic photo opportunity of the tour.
- Kawarau River - Enjoy the spectacular views of the Kawarau Gorge as the tour winds through it towards Cromwell. A stop at the incredible Roaring Meg Lookout offers a perfect chance for a memorable photo.
- Cromwell - Upon exiting the Kawarau Gorge, the tour enters Cromwell, known for its fruit and wine production. Passing vast vineyards, the journey crosses Lake Dunstan and follows its scenic path towards Lindis Pass.
- Lindis Pass - As the altitude increases, Lindis Pass offers breathtaking views of the valleys below. Being one of only three alpine roads through the otherwise impassable Southern Alps, a stop at the famous lookout at the top of the pass is a must for a memorable photo.
- Omarama - Traveling through the expansive plains of the Mackenzie district, several of the famous Merino sheep can be spotted before stopping at the charming township of Omarama. Here, there is time for a break or to savor what is considered the best creamy chicken pie in New Zealand (in our opinion)!
- Lake Pukaki - Heading west, the tour enters Aoraki National Park, with Lake Pukaki emerging ahead. Known for its striking blue color, the lake is beautifully set against the backdrop of Aoraki/Mt Cook and the Southern Alps. There will be a stop for stunning photos and to admire the breathtaking scenery. It’s easy to see why many scenes from Lord of the Rings were filmed nearby, and these locations will be pointed out.
- Aoraki Mount Cook National Park (Te Wahipounamu) - Upon arrival, guests will be dropped off at Aoraki/Mt Cook Village, where farewells will be exchanged.

PLEASE NOTE: The Hooker Valley Track is currently closed beyond Müller Lookout (located between the first and second swing bridges) as the Department of Conservation works on replacing one of the bridges. This scenic section still provides breathtaking views and a fulfilling hiking experience. The complete track is anticipated to reopen in Autumn 2026.
- Children aged 7 years and below are required to travel in a child safety car seat. You can hire seats ($20NZD per seat) or you can provide your own

Great tour - This trip was great even when travelling solo! Very easy to get chatting to other people and the day is organised so well you don’t have to worry about any of that. The staff were super friendly and answered any questions we had to ask and also gave us lots of fun facts and useful insight on the local area

Great experience to Mt. cook - I chose this tour because I wanted to enjoy the journey to Mt. Cook as well, and it turned out to be a great decision.
Although it was an early start, thanks to that we were able to see the beautiful scenery along the way in the best conditions.
Our driver and guide gave us fascinating explanations about history and nature, and even after we arrived, he kindly made suggestions tailored to each guest’s needs.
We also had plenty of time to enjoy the café and souvenir shop we stopped at, and the views of the Lindis Pass and Lake Pukaki were absolutely stunning.
I’m truly glad I joined this tour, and I would definitely love to join again.

Great tour - Lynette was awesome!

Great transfer to Mt. Cook - Kimberly was a fantastic guide and driver. We really enjoyed her commentary and flexibility. This is a great way to transit to Mt. Cook/Aoraki without the stress of driving ourselves.

Beautiful way to get to Mt Cook without a car - Beautiful drive and perfect way to get to Mt cook without a car. Van was comfortable and Hannah ( great driver and guide) made lots of stops for views and food along the way. Stayed 2 nights in Mt cook and took a return trip to Christchurch. Great way to relieve driving stress

Outstanding Tour with an entertaining guide - This was my third Queenstown to Mt Cook with Cheeky Kiwi. My guide Hannah still managed to keep me entertained with her commentary and gave me new info I had not heard before.
The tour works as a combi, arriving in Mt Cook somewhere between 11 am and 11:20, departing at 14:30. Some passengers are dropped off for scheduled heli flights and some for the Hooker Valley hike. For those doing neither, Hannah had other suggestions, such as hanging out at The Hermitage Hotel, or doing other hikes. The driver can fit in other drop-offs if these fit within the logistics, which must include her statutory 30 min break. Since I was staying at Mt Cook, I could be dropped off at The Tasman Glacier car park with my plan to walk/hitch back to my accomodation. This worked a treat for me, it may not always be possible.
My recommendation is to come prepared for a short hike, the one to Kea Point is easy 35 min each way and outstanding scenery of Mt Sefton and Mt Cook. The amble around the village and the Visitor's Centre is also worth doing.

Amazing Trip - Amazing trip! The tour guide was very professional, providing detailed and entertaining explanations throughout the journey. The schedule was well-planned, giving us plenty of time to enjoy the Hooker Valley Track at Mt. Cook. Thank you very much for helping us store our luggage and assisting with the transfer to another shuttle bus!

Shuttle from Mt. Cook to Lake Tekapo - Great shuttle! TJ was extremely friendly and knowledgeable not only as drive for the whole group, but also as a guide in explaining the sorroundings and their history.
