The Farm & the steamboat - The property is lovely and right on the shore of the lake. The afternoon tea was lovely and the pastries and cakes were delicious. The tour was a nicely paced around the farm and we learned lots about all the animals. The flower garden were an added bonus. Restroom facilities are clean and in the main building. The ride on the steamboat was special. They spoke of the history of the steamboat and how they build it, disassembled, transported to the lake, and reassembled. It’s been running for over 100 years. Riding the boat is a must do. The farm is a nice option if you have some time and interest in a gentle afternoon strolling the farm and learning.

Lovely Day at the Farm - Great experience, full of tourists but still well worth the day, lovely food. Definitely recommend some sun screen and a hat (or an umbrella an a jacket for the wet days) if your doing the afternoon session. I quite enjoyed the farm show, being Aussie it was nothing new but the commentary and explanations was really good! The boat was great but your got to be quick to snag a good seat (but people move around so you can normally still get something along the trip).

A 'must do' for families - It was a little drizzly as the family boarded the beautifully restored steam engine ship for the pleasantly paced trip to Walter Peak farm. Upon arrival the group was split into 2 main groups. One did the tour of the animals first then had morning tea. We had the morning tea first and the animal visit second. The highland cows certainly are an funny looking cow, resemble more of a moody 15 year old. Thankfully they didn't have the temperament to match! Our family got to feed / pat and take lots of photo's of all of the animals. Pigs, deer, cows.... As well as a sheepdog demonstration to round things off. Granted the Highland cows are the what separates the this from other farm encounters. In short, it was really well organised, friendly and engaging staff and is a must do for family's if you are in Queenstown.

Way better than expected. - This tour was so much better than we expected. Steam ship is beautiful and you can really explore all of it. The animals at the farm are gorgeous and friendly. The food provided for afternoon tea was amazing and there was free time to walk around the gardens and the beach. Fab tour.

This was such a fun day!... - This was such a fun day! It was crowded, but also one of the busiest holiday days of the year. The steamship was charming. The staff at the farm were incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Such a beautiful setting!

Nice afternoon. - Booked at 11.30am for a 1pm departure. Other websites had no availability. Really good way to spend a few hours. Not too long either kids loved farm tour and patting / hand feeding baby animals. Farm show pretty basic but good if no previous exposure to rural life. Tour not too long and good way to see the lake from the boat. Little less Adrenalin.

Activity does not provide... - Activity does not provide a whole lot of information. Useful only to people who have never seen a farm animal before. Disappointing. Having said that the staff were very obliging and friendly.
