These excursions offer the chance to thoroughly explore the waterways and micro-habitats in pursuit of various cetaceans: Migratory Humpback Whales, celebrated for their acrobatic displays, and Orca Whales, which belong to one of two ecotypes in our region: Biggs (mammal-eating culture) or Residents (salmon-eating culture).
During our journey, there is always the possibility of encountering Eagles, Harbour Seals, Steller sea lions, Pacific white-sided dolphins, Dalls, and Harbour Porpoises. With a watchful eye on the shoreline, there is a chance to spot Grizzly and Black Bears foraging in the intertidal zone.
Midway through our tour, we will pause at one of the many nearby islands for lunch. This could be a picnic on a secluded beach or a visit to a public dock with amenities and shops.
A local farm-to-table lunch is provided, along with snacks and hot beverages throughout the tour. Washroom breaks are frequent, quick, and convenient.

Transient Orca clans are always on the move, often spending extended periods foraging along the endless shorelines and Coast Mountain fjords. In their quest for prey such as harbor seals, sea lions, and porpoises, we have the opportunity to observe the skill and intelligence of these remarkable animals as they thrive in their expansive ocean habitat.
The interconnected waterways of the Discovery Islands are famous for their tidal rapids, which create a wealth of nutrients. Steller sea lions feed by the dozen, alongside Harbor Seals, Pacific white-sided dolphins, and large gatherings of Bald Eagles and gulls, all participating in the ebb and flow.
