Situated 118 km from Baku, Shamakhi is one of Azerbaijan’s ancient cities. Some sources suggest that the city was established in the 5th century BC. Additionally, Shamakhi is renowned for its winemaking and carpet weaving industries.
Diri Baba Mausoleum.
The Diri Baba Mausoleum, located on the way to Shamakhi, was constructed in 1402. This two-story structure is set on a platform carved into a steep rock face. Numerous legends are linked to this site, attracting pilgrims and tourists since ancient times.

Yeddi Gumbaz Mausoleum - Yeddi Gumbaz Mausoleum.
7 Gumbaz is an ancient cemetery featuring the tombs of the Shirvan khans, located 1.5 km from Shamakhi city. Currently, only 4 of the 7 mausoleums remain intact.
The esteemed Azerbaijani poet Mirza Alekper Sabir (1862-1911) is also interred in this cemetery. -
Juma Mosque - Juma Mosque.
The Juma (Friday) Mosque, the oldest and largest in Azerbaijan, is said to have been built by an Arab caliph in the 8th century. According to the inscription on the minaret, the mosque was constructed in 744. Thus, the Juma Mosque of Shamakhi is considered one of the oldest mosques in the entire Transcaucasia region. -
Lahich - Road to Lahij Village.
Established in the 4th-3rd centuries BC, Lahij is located at an elevation of 1505 meters above sea level in northern Azerbaijan, on the slopes of the Greater Caucasus mountains. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes.
In the 18th-19th centuries, Lahij was a hub for tinning and weapons production in Azerbaijan. Numerous workshops can be found here, where hereditary blacksmiths continue to craft household items.
Furthermore, in Lahij village, the guide will show visitors points of interest such as the Nurmahammad and Haji Molla Huseyn hamams, a suspension bridge, and a museum.
Lunch Break.
Before returning to Baku city, there will be time to enjoy lunch and appreciate the local scenery.
The End of the Tour.
At the conclusion of the tour (around 9:00 PM), the driver will drop guests off at their location in the city center of Baku.
