- Gobustan Rock Art - The first stop is Gobustan, an archaeological monument situated 56 km from Baku, the capital city. Discovered between 1939 and 1940, the site features over 3,500 petroglyphs depicting humans and animals, along with various markings. Researchers have identified 20 suburban shelters here. The reserve primarily showcases Mesolithic monuments. Visitors can explore numerous caves and springs, with walls adorned by primitive carvings. A visit to the Gobustan Museum offers deeper historical insights before heading by car to Rock Mountain to view the carvings firsthand.
- Mud Volcanoes - Following Rock Mountain, the tour continues to the Mud Volcanoes. Transportation will switch to Soviet Lada Cars for this leg. Visitors are encouraged to bring sturdy plastic bags to collect mud, reputed for its skin benefits. After a 10-minute exploration around the volcanoes, guests will return to their original vehicle.
- Bibi-Heybat Mosque - On the return journey to the city, there will be a stop at the Bibi-Heybat Mosque. Originally constructed in the 13th century, it was demolished by the Bolsheviks during their anti-religion campaign across the Soviet Union. The mosque complex includes graves and tombs of revered figures, including the grave of Ukema Khanum, a significant monument of Islamic architecture in Azerbaijan.
- Ateshgah - Fire Temple - Ateshgah, a fire temple from the 17th-18th centuries, is located at the site of natural gas’s eternal flames. The earliest structure dates back to 1713, with the central temple built in 1810 funded by merchant Kanchanagara. It has been sanctified by Zoroastrians, Hindus, and Sikhs over time. Situated in the southeastern part of the Surakhani settlement on the Absheron peninsula, 30 km from Baku, the area is known for its unique natural phenomenon of burning natural gas outlets. The temple was constructed by the Baku-based Hindu community linked to Sikhs.
- Yanardag State Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve - After visiting the Fire Temple, the next stop is Fire Mountain. Yanar Dag is located 25 km north of Baku, in Mehemmedi village. Declared a state-protected conservation area in 2007, this natural burning flame results from natural gas emerging at the hill’s base. The hill has been burning continuously for approximately 4,000 years, even during rain and snow, with gas roots extending to the Caspian Sea.
- Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center - On the way back to the hotel, there will be a stop at the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center for photos. Visitors can capture a picture in front of the “I LOVE BAKU” sign. Designed by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid, the center is renowned for its flowing, curved design that avoids sharp angles. As a masterpiece of post-modern architecture, the building symbolizes an eternal cycle, linking past and present. It houses a conference hall, gallery halls, museums, and more, aiming to unite people from diverse backgrounds in a space of shared ideas. The building received the London Design Museum award in 2014.
