- Laoshan Scenic Area - Visit the largest and oldest preserved temple in Laoshan, the Taiqing Temple, which dates back 2,000 years.
It is the second most significant Taoist Temple in China. The Taoists from Laoshan Mountain were renowned for their religious knowledge and legendary Taichi skills.
The Taiqing Temple complex includes over 150 rooms, featuring two courtyards named Martyr’s Shrine and Shrine of Master of Scriptures, and inner temples like Sanguan, Sanqing, and Sanhuang, each with its own gates and walls. Notice the ancient trees along the way, including two old cypresses and a rare camellia.
While descending the mountain, encounter uniquely shaped stones, caves, and impressive cliffs, along with many clear springs. It is said to be home to some “supernatural spirits” that have inspired poems and stories of emperors throughout history.
Afterwards, visit the Xiaoyushan fishing village located just below Laoshan Mountain.
