Montezuma and Cabuya, two quaint fishing villages located in the southern Nicoya Peninsula, are surrounded by protected areas and national parks. Our beaches are safeguarded and exclusive, welcoming only a limited number of visitors annually, making them perfect for beginner and intermediate surfers.
On the first day of surfing, participants will be taken to Playa Grande, our premier beach break (sandy bottom) in the area, suitable for beginners and intermediates. The meeting point is at the ice cream shop in Montezuma town, from where a scenic 30-minute hike along the ocean trail, crossing several national parks, leads to Playa Grande, nestled between two national parks.
An assessment of surfing levels will be conducted to tailor a plan that matches individual skills. Typically, the first session includes both a theoretical introduction and practical exercises.
In Cabuya, there are several point break options where intermediate surfers can practice paddling out, catching waves before they break, and setting up lines on the wave faces.

Enhance your skills in small groups, with a maximum of three participants per instructor, ensuring safety and personalized coaching. We are among the few surf companies with our own storage facility at Playa Grande, boasting over 25 different surfboards, eliminating the need to transport them to the beach. Additionally, we have another surf shack conveniently located next to the surf breaks in Cabuya.
