Excellent guided tour to the Cloud Forest - A very long day that was very worth it (also very worth it to have a local driver navigate us to the Cloud Forest)! Our guide Kevin picked us up at 5:30 am from Brasilito and we arrived at Selvatura Park by 9 am for ziplines and a guided walk across the hanging bridges. We were added to a very big group for ziplines (maybe 40 people), but once we got going, we flew across 15 cables high above the tree canopy with only a few stopping points. It was so surreal, and the Tarzan swing was a lot of fun, too! They take pictures for purchase of the first two runs. Be aware that there are some longer walks/steep hills when switching from one section of the course to the next - hiking shoes are smart. We met up with Kevin and the other folks on our Native's Way tour who visited another section of the park while we did ziplines and did a guided hike together. We were moving pretty quickly from one activity to the next and felt a little rushed, but we slowed down every time we saw a bird or animal (we even spotted a female resplendent quetzal!). Lunch was delicious – we had to order in advance and all picked the Costa Rican option, but the pizzas looked great too. We arrived back in Brasilito at 7 pm after a stop at El Jardin for bathrooms and souvenirs. A heads up that the roads can get very bumpy higher into the mountains and the closer you get to the park (a “Costa Rican massage”), so if you’re easily motion sick, consider taking or bringing along medicine.

Native's Way Takes Care of Everything - I'm so happy I booked with Native's Way! This company is very organized and uses the very best tour guides and drivers. I would most definitely book with them again. My family of 4 did a zip line/hanging bridges combo in the Monteverde cloud forest. Our driver was waiting to pick us up right on time at the front of our hotel and navigated the bumpy curvy roads expertly. We changed drivers/vehicles and joined the rest of our group at a convenient store where we could grab coffee and/or snacks for the remainder of our drive. Our tour guide, Hector, was wonderful! He provided interesting facts about Costa Rica's environment, economy, and development during our long drive to Monteverde. I especially appreciated that he explained what to expect at each point along the way (when we were stopping, if bathrooms or food was available, etc.). He even spotted a family of macaws and had our driver stop, so we could get out and see them! The activities we did were super fun! My family loved the zip lining! I was expecting to just do 3 or 4, but we did at least twice that amount -- I actually lost count. All of the workers we encountered were friendly and made jokes with us when we arrived at each platform, and i felt they did a great job ensuring we were safe. The hanging bridges hike was amazing, thanks to Hector. He pointed out various species of plants and birds and helped us to understand more about the unique cloud forest ecosystem. He even offered to take pictures of our family on the bridges! After the activities, we drove part way down the mountain and had lunch. Hector pre-ordered our meals (we all chose what we wanted), so our food was ready within minutes of our arrival. The restaurant was lovely and the food was delicious. We really enjoyed chatting with Hector and the other member of our tour. This was such a great excursion for us! Hector and our drivers took care of all the details, so our family was able to focus on making memories together!

Best zip line course. - We’ve zip lined in many countries and this 13 zip line course was the best. We expect enjoyed the two longer 1k tandem ziplines in the cloud forest. Hanging bridges were interesting also.

Dream came true - Our first real zip line experience. Soaring across the plush canopies of Monteverde’s cloud forest has been on of my personal bucket list items, and Selvatura Adventure Park made it real. The park crew’s attention to our safety was meticulous and focused. The views were eyegasmic! The zip lining was exhilarating! If you are in Costa Rica, it is a must do adventure. Highly Recommend!!

Just ok - If I could give separate ratings, I would give the hanging bridge tour two stars and the zip line four stars. The tour and explanations on the walk were mediocre at best, the guide was on his phone most of the time, but the zip line was amazing. If you're by the beaches expect to be in a car for at least 6 hours round trip.

Negative Experience but Business Owner Reached Out to Resolve - We booked this tour as a family of 4 - 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant. We enquired months before and confirmed our booking a month before the day. The day before our tour, they cancelled via emailed. When I called, they said it was because they didn’t meet their minimum number of guests. It was not stated anywhere that there needed to be a minimum number of bookings. They suggested we rebooked for over a week later, after we would have left CR. As there was no time to book an alternative, I offered to pay for our infant who would have been free. . They agreed as technically it met their 4 guest minimum. To note, the infant wasn’t served any food at the included lunch, despite now paying. The guide we got was also average, didn’t give us any information at all in the 3 hours drive from Guanacaste to Monteverde, or during the hike at all. After sharing our experience, the company owner did get in touch with us to try and resolve the issue. They ended up refunding the full cost of our infant's booking. I appreciate this gesture, as there can be misaligned expectations between business owners and their operators, and owners often don't have oversight on every booking. I do hope they will take this feedback for internal training to ensure future guests do not have our same initial experience.
