Cooking a Yummy Carribean dish - Excellent experience cooking Carribean food From cooking the meat, peeling and chopping local veg to eating a lovely meal. Shout out to Roo (sorry I'm not very good at names - think this was the teachers name). She had an amazing sense of humour and talked us clearly through the process giving us all jobs to do! Everyone was fully involved!

Fun!!! - Chef Ruth was an amazing host! We had a great time making a 21 ingredient soup and even learn how to dance a little, lol! My husband and I are excited to bring this recipe back home to Canada with us. Such a fun bonding experience as well! As a beginner cooker I was nervous but Ruth gave me lots of great tips & never shamed my un coordinated ness LOL! 💗

Must try if you like to cook! - If you're a foodie, love to cook, and try new things.... This is for you! We had such a wonderful time and the Sancocho was the best meal we had in the Dominican! The chef was so much fun. 100% recommend.

Rushed but still delicious - The bus they sent arrived over 20 minutes late and then he didn't have my name so we spent another few minutes figuring out if he was the driver I was supposed to go with so we ended up being very late. Due to this the class was very rushed and at times I felt unsafe handling the very sharp knife at such a fast speed. It wasn't the instructors fault, she was great. It was that the room was needed later for other classes. The sancocho borracho we (she) made was delicious! It was by far the best food I've had here during my trip and I'm on day five. If not for the rushing I definitely would've given five stars.

Resort tour rep groups were very very noisy making for a rough experience - Ruth did a good job despite the constant chatter of the iberostar reps who were in our class. It was us and 6 of them with music very loud and their constant loud chatter made it tough to follow or hear the instructor. We had a chocolate lab scheduled but cancelled it due to this experience. I'd say if you choose this tour ask if there is a resort rep group first, if there is id stay away from it.

Not the Best - Well first it started with pickup confusion but got that resolved. We arrived at the cooking lab and they had us wander their store for a half hour. Our cooking experience then began and it went from bad to worse. There was a group of 6 or 7 employees from Iberostar guessing they were tour reps. Very loud and talked constantly. My husband and I paid good money to be ignored and left to cook on our own mostly. They catered heavily to the Iberoatar reps while mostly ignoring my husband and I who paid for the experience. At the end they had all kinds of swag and gifts for the nonpaying guests from Iberostar and sent us on our way empty handed, the paying guests. I get they were trying to persuade them but it left a poor taste in my mouth so much that I cancelled my chocolate lab experience booked at the same place in two days, right there while we ate our "dinner". I believed the reviews but we got no history, no real cooking and were kind of an after thought. Would not recommend this.
