Excellent value, great experience, beautiful ocean - We were picked up in front of our condo on time. The driver was very prompt. But the connection from the transportation to the excursion could have been better planned. We waited around for a while before we knew where we were supposed to be.
We were picked up at 7:30 am and arrived at the excursion pick up point at around 10:30.
The water was beautiful but rough. The crew on board were great. Very patient and welcoming and accommodating. We had 2 sea sick kids.
When we arrived at the snorkeling spot, the gear was provided to us and we were allowed ample time in the water before moving to the island for lunch and drinks.
The food was great. A lot of variety for everyone including vegan options.
It was very relaxed and we had plenty of time to enjoy the island.
The ride back was easier. We didn't ha e to change buses and were dropped right in front of our condo.
We had a great day and would definitely do it again.
Be mindful that travel time takes up about 1/3 of the day.

Pretty good for the money - There was some confusion regarding the buses but once that was fixed, it was a nice day. We stopped for almost an hour to snorkel then over to Catalina island. We had lunch and time to relax. The open bar was a little disappointing as it was only rum, coke or 7 up served.

Nice! Could be better - It was nice. However we had to switch from van to bus at least twice on our way to the first destination. The boat was also not a catamaran, as we were told it would be. Due to that along with agitated sea, the ride was not smooth and it caused a lot of people to get sea sick.
However, the snorkeling spot was beautiful and the view was amazing. Once we got to the island, we were able to have lunch (it was not all that). The beach was pretty good, minus the fact that it’s very rocky. Other than that, it was a good experience. The staff is super nice and they’re entertaining!

excursion problems October 8 and 11, 2023 - We didn't go by catamaran, it was by boat
The excursion and the staff were very good, but when we arrived there was no one to pick us up at the port. I had to call the Platinum transfer agency by phone, and we waited 40 minutes until someone came to pick us up.
I also made another excursion to Saona Island on Sunday, October 8, I booked it through the website, they told me that there were collection problems and that I should cancel it and pay in cash. It was 140 dollars. On Sunday I gave the driver 150 euros and I am requesting my money back, and no one tells me anything.
You have the credit card number from which I made the payment, you can make the refund to that card, since, from here, no one knows anything, but I gave the money to the driver in cash, following instructions that I have by message by WhatsApp.
I hope they give me back what they owe me

Island without any armored interest of people - Excursion to the island of Catalina with no interest in Saona. What a disappointment! The beach of the island is tiny, full of rocks, overrun by deckchairs and music, we are on each other, it looks like on the French Riviera. We were disembarked from the boat to the island in an overloaded boat, or we almost capsized. They sold her to us as better than Saona, but it's the other way around. Also, the tour is more expensive. This is the worst day we've ever had. Very bad experience for us.

JUST SAY NO ! - NOT ENOUGH SAFETY MEASURES INPARTED. MY HUSBAND WAS FLOUNDERING IN THE WATER AND NO ONE NOTICED BUT ME . HAD TO YELL FOR HELP . HE JUST MADE IT OUT OF THE WATER WITH HIS LIFE. THIS SNORKELING TRIP WAS DANGEROUS , THE SNORKEL GEAR WAS DIRTY AND ILL FITTING, THE MUSIC WAS ATROCIOUSLY LOUD , BUT THE RUM WAS GOOD . NOT WORTH THE MONEY AND NOT WORTH RISKING YOUR LIFE !

Bad experience - They picked us up in a minibus, so far all good. Arriving at the pier the catamaran was leaving, the boy in charge shouted at them and yet they did not return. They left us lying there, then in the same minibus they took us to another jetty and put us on another catamaran, where there was no show, let alone teach us some dance, as he says in the activities. Catalina Island is basically for snorkeling, (although I didn't see a fish, my daughter says she saw 2.) Because the beach is full of stones, so it's very uncomfortable to get into the water.
After this came lunch, it must be said that there is no restorant in Catalina Island. Lunch is already made, it is moved from the continent, therefore, it is not very abundant. And they leave it exposed in very precarious facilities, and the flies feast.
All the companies do the same, because I insist that there is no restorant on the island. There are no people living there.
I do not recommend it, if you go to an island that is Saône Island, it is very nice.
To finish our bad experience, arriving on the mainland our minibus was gone, all the other passengers left, we were 2 waiting for 1 hour our transport., the manager, after making several calls, left us alone waiting for the minibus.
We claim the company, but nothing more can be done, they should return the money, but as everyone knows, that does not happen.
And just so you know the open bar is: coke,
sprite and rum... nothing more. Not even a sugar-free drink option.
