The Pinguino Rey Reserve is a Must See! - Wonderful trek to see the Pinguino Rey Reserve on the Isla Tierra del Fuego! Our guide was terrific in explaining so much of the region’s history, and he even shared his personal history on our in Cerros Sombrero. The guide at the Reserve was a biologist who did an excellent job of describing the behavior of the King Penguins. It was, obvious, of his passion for working to protect these special penguins! Long day but worth the trip!

On such a long and full day of travel, it’s essential to have a guide and driver who are well-prepared and truly profess - Tour Review – Tierra del Fuego Day Trip This was a full-day tour from early morning until our return to the hotel around 10 PM — quite a long journey, but absolutely worthwhile. The guide and driver were both excellent, bringing such positive energy throughout the day. We visited several destinations across Tierra del Fuego, and initially, we had considered renting a car to explore on our own. However, after experiencing this tour, we realized it was the best decision to go with a guided service. The road conditions in the late morning were very foggy, but the driver handled everything with great skill and ensured our safety at all times. Each stop was thoughtfully chosen, and the guide gave informative and engaging explanations. The highlight was definitely the penguin site — an incredible experience. Of course, when observing wildlife, it’s important to remain quiet and keep a respectful distance so as not to disturb the animals. I highly recommend bringing binoculars to enhance the experience. All in all, a well-organized, safe, and memorable tour — highly recommended!

Great trip, but with some logistics constraints due to the fact that several groups should not arrive at the same time. - Problems with the reservation site. I got a reservation with a planned pick-up at 5 am in front of a hotel in town, while the reality was that the pick-up would take place after 7:15 at my location. The problem could be solved the night before thanks through contacts with the guide, Atma!

King Penguin Reserve Day Trip - Very long trip to get there (about 15 hrs round trip). There was a lot of time filler (small towns, lunch) to coordinate the travel, ticket time, and ferries in a fairly bleak area of the world. Got within about 50 feet of penguins for about an hour. I am a serious penguin lover so for me it was wonderful. The reserve was everything hoped for, even saw some chicks. Great and caring staff. Kudos to the woman who created it to save the birds on the mainland

Nice experience - Excellent experience, but it could be just a half-day tour. The sanctuary where the penguins are located is small — there’s not much to see; after about 10 minutes, you’ve seen it all.
