Did the mid day tour and highly recommend it - It was quite a different experience visiting the iconic floating islands of Uros and getting a first hand experience to the way of life of locals. Saul, our tour guide was very much passionate in sharing his thoughts and history. We chose the mid day tour and had a perfect weather to click fotos and take a walk on the island.

A good introduction to the tradition and culture, but a bit too touristy - Did this half day tour to the floating islands and it was quite an introduction tot he place and culture. Although a bit touristy, the tour company and Ruben, our guide were fantastic. Highly recommend this if you are short on time.

Must see on Lake Titicaca - I’ve never seen anything like this! Local people living in houses built on man-made islands made of reeds on the lake. Amazing!

It's interesting to visit... - It's interesting to visit the floating islands. Everything was well organised and the explanation of building, maintaining and governing a floating island was interesting. The only part we didn’t like was the hard sell by the people on this island. 6 of the 8 didn't want to go on brief ride on a reed boat but the islander insisted that everyone went so there were discussions and negotiations so that the tour could move forward. It should be noted that visits tend to be shared around the islands so this wasn't the only island that the tour company visits.

Interesting insight into the Reed Islands - Interesting insight into the Reed Islands. Two islands were visited; the stay on the second island, where there was a small restaurant, was a little too long if you didn't want to eat. The Führer (Edwin was his name, I think) explained everything well. Of course, the whole thing is touristy, and products were presented that could have been bought. But there was no pressure. Picking up from the hotel was a bit late, so we had to hurry up on the pier (not easy at 3,600 m altitude).

* Floating Island Tour: Educational, but a tourist trap - Our guide did a good job of explaining information about the lake and about the floating island construction, but other than that it was a very touristy experience: an opportunity to be sold more stuff. I’d say the bulk of the focus of the activity is to bring tourists to the island to sell crafts and extra boat rides on the grass boats.

Unfortunately rip-off, please feedback from TripAdvisor - Had booked here especially the more expensive tour for over 22€, with a smaller group size. Well, in the end we were in a boat with about 30 other people. For this I could have booked you 8€ tour. Please make a statement from TripAdvisor and the organizer. During the rest of the tour there was some good information about the islands, but the majority as an additional sales show and lunch. The focus was on additional sales rather than getting to know the culture better.

Very disappointing. Feel ripped off - They include the ride from your hotel to the port which is nice. The problems start when they drop you off at the end of the pier and assign you to a guide without telling you anything and you’re supposed to just know to follow him. The guide doesn’t introduce himself or let you in on any info. When you get to the boat, you’re asked to embark and wait for the departure. The boat eventually starts moving and our guide started speaking to us in a very low voice where we couldn’t comprehend much he was saying. He didn’t give us much information about the tour we were doing or the history behind the uros population or their floating islands. To note that a few people were in front of us vaping and drinking beers inside the bus with total disregard for others, the guide clearly saw them and didn’t say a word. There were kids on board… After the very very brief introduction by the guide, you arrive at an island and you’re sat in a circle. Women from the island start singing in a very unenthusiastic way as if they were being forced to. After a while you’re assigned to a woman on the island that brings you to her house to buy stuff. It’s a very weird feeling because you feel obligated to do so. The women barely speak spanish, let alone english so it’s very hard to decline to buy the things she’s selling. Also the prices are absolutely ridiculous. After this very unpleasant part, there’s the boat tour experience in their traditional boat the “mercedes benz” which costs 15 soles pp and is a total rip off as the boat is pushed by another motor boat. This short trip to the neighbouring island is about 15 minutes long. If you decline to do the “optional” boat tour as my gf and I kindly did, and as did another couple of backpackers, you’re disfigured by the guide and the inhabitants of the island and they try to haggle with you for a cheaper price. This “traditional” boat trip brings you to another island that is only made of restaurants and shops so again another opportunity for them to sell you stuff. The tour is also supposed to be bilingual (spanish/english) but the guide only knows his text so it’s impossible to have a conversation with him or to ask him intricate questions about the uros or the islands. Honestly it was an awful experience. Zero history, zero insights by the guide, and an all around guilt trip if you’re not emptying your pockets on this VERY touristic tour. Extremely glad we didn’t book a longer/more expensive trip with them. I never write bad reviews online but felt compelled to do so in this particular instance. I won’t add the guide’s name out of respect for him but I’m guessing any of their tours should ressemble this.
