A Memorable Lake Titicaca Experience - I did the tour to Taquile and Amantaní with Planet Odysseys, and I truly enjoyed it; everything was well organized from the start, which made the whole experience feel smooth and relaxed. The guide was kind and shared the local culture in a respectful and authentic way, and staying overnight in Amantaní was simple yet very meaningful. Overall, it felt like a genuine and peaceful experience that I would definitely recommend.

Where the Sky Touches the Water: A Journey to the Heart of Titicaca ✨ - There are trips we remember… and then there are journeys that quietly move into our hearts and stay there forever. Mine at Lake Titicaca was exactly that. 🤍
I left with a little fear, I admit it. Traveling alone carries its own silence, its own questions, a soft uncertainty that settles in your chest. But from the very beginning, the personalized service of Planet Odysseys felt like a steady, reassuring hand. I was never truly alone. I felt supported, guided, and genuinely cared for every step of the way.
And somewhere along the journey, something beautiful happened. I met wonderful people who arrived as strangers but, for a brief and magical moment, felt like family. We shared laughter, quiet reflections by the endless blue of the lake, and conversations that only happen when nature opens your soul wide.
My heart especially stayed behind in Amantaní. There, Mrs. Irma and her husband Aquilino welcomed us not as guests, but as if we were returning home. Their warmth was comforting, their kindness sincere, their hospitality unforgettable. I recommend them with all my heart — it is rare to find people so genuine, so gentle, so full of light.
The peace of the lake — a silence that doesn’t feel empty but healing — the breathtaking landscapes painted in shades of sky and water, the horizon where heaven seems to touch the earth… everything made my dream trip feel like a dream made real.
I loved every moment. The cold wind against my face, the stars shining fiercely above Titicaca, even the goodbyes that carried a soft ache — because they meant something truly beautiful had taken place.
Thank you for turning a simple journey into an unforgettable experience. Some memories are told… and others simply beat quietly within your heart. This is one of them. ✨

Authentic Andean experience - It was quite an immersive two day trip to three islands with a homestay with a local family. The tour was informative and the guide was very nice and accomodating. The price included transport from our hotel in Puno and back, all entrance fees and three meals along the trip. The visit to Uros floating islands were nice as we had the first hand experience of witnessing how the people lived there just minutes away from Puno. Our homestay was the highlight of the tour, the family was welcoming, although we had a bit trouble communicating with them as they only spoke Quechua, our guide helped us in translating and it was quite an authentic experience. We throughly enjoyed the Folkloric music festival that the community organised at night where we got to dress in a local attire and experience their dances. On day two, we visited Taquile Island which was yet another unique experience. Here we witnessed the local way of knitting and how the people have been carrying the tradition for generations. The lunch, overlooking the lake was very delicious, especially after a challenging uphill hike to the main square of Tquile Island. All in all, it was two incredible days we had on our trip to Peru and we highly recommend the tour and the tour company.

The Wonder of Uros/Flamingo Island on Lake Titicaca - Our Wonderful Stay at Posada del Sol – Uros Islands, Lake Titicaca, Puno, Peru
Our stay at Posada del Sol was nothing short of magical. The beautifully crafted studio cottage sits just feet from the waters of Lake Titicaca, with a floor-to-ceiling glass wall that frames breathtaking views across the lake toward Puno’s softly illuminated hills at night. Waking to silence, light, and water was a rare gift; the early evenings as the town’s lights came alive, were captivating.
The space was thoughtfully designed with Inca-inspired fabrics, original artwork, and ecological comforts, including a well-functioning composting toilet and hot shower. Meals were lovingly prepared and delivered to our room by our very attentive hosts—the authentic Peruvian breakfasts and dinners made us feel truly cared for.
Rubén arrived promptly at the Port and welcomed us with his small, quite sea-worthy boat. As we headed off thru the tall grass lines channel, towards the Lake, he introduced us to the history and, revealed the ingenuity of the floating Uros Islands.
When the channel ended and revealed Lake Titicaca, Ruben initiated a boat tour along the lake perimeter, revealing many ceremonial boats and neighboring Uros communities. It greatly deepened our appreciation for this remarkable community and culture. Every question was answered with kindness, every need met with ease.
Thirty minutes later, we arrived at Ana/Ruben’s personal floating Uros island, known as Flamingo Island. Immediately, their 2 daughters greeted us in beautiful traditional dresses and big welcoming smiles. They all offered genuine warmth, grace, and insight into their ancestral way of life. Thereafter, we chose to linger, savoring the peace of Flamingo Island and our own enticing living quarters, rather than rushing off to nearby excursions.
This was more than a stay—it was an immersion into a peaceful, sustainable lifestyle, rooted in heritage, community, and harmony with nature. We departed humbled, restored, and deeply grateful, having been so warmly cared for and embraced. We felt as thou we were leaving loving family behind & shall be forever grateful for having met Ana, Ruben & their delightful daughters.

Excellent service - The experience was beyond our expectations. The guide was extra attentive. One of our friends was using a cane because of a knee problem, and our guide arrange a motorcycle to help her climb to our host family house in Amantaní. Also, his knowledge was 10/10.

Amazing but.... - It was an incredibly enlightening and rewarding experience. The chance to learn about the local cultures and to see the beautiful scenery was excellent.
The only problem was the boat.... the fumes from the exhaust continually came into the cabin. Blech! Not great at all. They really need to change the set up to provide a safer and more enjoyable experience on the boat...

Relaxing, immersive visit to the world’s highest navigable lake. - The two days was fantastic. Looking online this seemed to be the best way to experience Lake Titicaca. While it wasn’t perfect, it was close enough. I would recommend this to anyone. Experiencing Pachyama at Sunset, spending the night on Amantani Island, lunch the second day on Taquile Island, the time on the water, and swimming in Lake Titicaca were unforgettable.
