Uros – Amantani

Uros Floating Islands - The tour begins at 7:45 am with a transfer from the hotel to the port.

The journey to the floating islands of the Uros takes approximately 25 minutes.

Upon arrival, visitors are warmly welcomed by the locals, followed by a comprehensive explanation from the guide about the inhabitants, their customs, and the unique features of this captivating place.

The tour includes visits to two of the 80 islands, with an optional short ride (around 15 minutes) on traditional reed boats.

Amantani Island - After a three-hour boat ride, the group arrives at Amantani Island. Upon disembarking, participants are divided into smaller groups to stay in rural homes with various Taquileña families.

A typical lunch is served with the host families.

In the evening, there is a walk to the island’s highest point, “Pacha Tata,” to enjoy the sunset. The guide provides a brief overview of the island’s main features and unique aspects.

After dinner, the host family dresses guests in traditional attire for a small celebration in the community room or peña.

Guests spend the night in the designated rural homes.

Second Day

Amantani Island - After breakfast at a rural home, the tour resumes at 8:00 am.

The group heads to Taquile Island, arriving after about an hour of navigation. Upon arrival, there is a gradual ascent to the main square, taking approximately 45 minutes, to visit the communal cooperative showcasing local textiles.

Taquile Island - The guide explains the lifestyle of the inhabitants and their renowned textile industry, recognized as an “intangible cultural heritage of humanity” by UNESCO.

Lunch is available at one of the local restaurants (not included).

After lunch, there is an optional descent of 500 steps to the main port.

At around 1:00 pm, the group embarks on a three-hour journey back to Puno.

The tour concludes upon returning to Puno.
