Very worthwhile activity in Isabela Island - Memorable experience to be able kayaking in Galapagos. Although we are not very good at kayaking, the agent patiently trained us. She explained the eco environment which is very interesting. We saw sea turtles, fishes of various sizes.

This tour was one of the... - This tour was one of the highlights of our Galapagos trip! Carlos, our guide, was outstanding. He shared so much knowledge about the unique marine life and wildlife of Isabela Island. We spotted sea lions, sea turtles, penguins, stingrays, pelicans, and schools of fish throughout the day.
The experience was well-organized and smoothly paced. We loved the balance between kayaking and snorkeling. We never felt rushed, and there was plenty of time to enjoy both. Carlos provided all the snorkeling equipment, including wetsuits (which we arranged in advance), and even gave us waterproof bags for our phones during the kayak ride.
Carlos's passion and energy made the tour extra special. Highly recommend this if you're looking for a fun, active way to experience the waters around Isabela Island!

A nice place to relax - A cute small town where you can organize any activity. Animals are all around, and would defitely recommend snorkeling at la cancha de la perla.
Keep in mind it's far away from the main land, so more expensive than pueto ayora for example (6 dollars a beer - 10 dollars menú del día) but much more quaint and quiet.

Great Tour experience in Isabela island - I stayed 3 days in Isabela island during Christmas time in 2022. Having concerns that tours may be fully booked during the holiday time, I contacted different tour agencies via whatsapp upfront. I am a solo traveler that does not speak spanish. They were pretty responsive during the contact time a

Tintoreras kayak - We had a great experience touring with the tintoreras by kayak. The sea in most parts is calm. We were a group of only 4 people and our guide was very informative. We had some time for snorkeling where the Highlight was to see an iguana feeding underwater something that we didn't see before. Also saw a shark, turtles and a penguin.

Good kayaking with a great guide - Two good experiences: Kayaking round the Tintoreras Islets and snorkeling the Concha La Perla bay. The guide was very good at spotting animals and telling about them - you had to stay close to him in your kayak to hear him though. We saw some penguins and blue footed boobies on land fairly close and some turtles and sharks in the water. It was easier to handle the kayaks than expected - they were very stable. The main snorkeling experience was a playful young sea lion swimming very close to us.

Kayaking never happened despite prepayment - I booked a kayak trip 1 month ago and paid a few days in advance. Once I arrived in Isabela, I double-checked the description and messaged the company reconfirming pickup at my hotel. No word.
It got closer to pickup time so I messaged the number listed via What's App. 20 minutes before scheduled pickup, they replied and said there was a problem with kayaking (they didn't said what). They asked if I wanted to do the snorkel tour. I said yes because I had limited time.
20 minutes after scheduled pickup, I was still waiting. The shuttle driver finally pulled up and drove like crazy to the dock where everyone was waiting. (I wasn't late. I sat in my hotel lobby for 45 minutes.)
So if you want to go kayaking in Isabela, I'd choose a different option.
BUT I gave this 3 stars because the replacement boat trip to was great. Wonderful guide (Jimmy) and captain, we saw sharks and iguanas and sea lions and a couple of penguins. We took a short walk. They had towels for us and snorkel gear was available. They were kind with novice snorkelers and answered lots of questions. Bring your own water and snacks.
If only the agency had contacted me instead of being surprised by a last-minute change of plans.

This is a kayaking only tour...no snorkeling is included. - The itinerary for this tour states: "After the Kayaking we will do Snorkeling in Pearl Shell where we will see all the endemic animals that inhabit this place." The kayaking was great. Got to see lots of marine life, birds, and iguanas. But there was no snorkeling. When we (us and two other couples) asked about the snorkeling, we were told that someone should have contacted us to tell us snorkeling would not be included.

Not worth going with Viator; didn’t have proper gear and charged extra - We booked this snorkeling and kayaking tour two months in advance, and I had specified that I was coming with three kids and told them their ages. When we got to the island, they didn’t have snorkeling gear for one of my kids (the youngest one, 8 yo) and we had to wait for more than an hour to get on the kayaks. The guide Rico was awesome, though! They also said that transportation to the kayaking center to change into our wetsuits would be included but they still charged us $5. all in all, it’s not worth going through Viator, you’d be much better off just booking directly with a local company.
